The Dallas Cowboys will franchise tag leading sacker DeMarcus Lawrence again for the 2019 season according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Lawrence, 26, was franchise tagged for the 2018 season after posting 14.5 sacks in 2017. Last season he had 10.5 sacks for Dallas.
Placing the franchise tag on Lawrence will likely result in a holdout from the star defensive end.
The two sides will now try and reach an agreement on a long-term deal before the 2019 season starts.
