Mathieu is a six-year veteran, who spent time with both the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans. He has 394 total tackles, 33 tackles for loss, 49 passes defended and 13 interceptions in his career.
The Chiefs will now have two solid safeties manning the backend of their defense with Mathieu and Eric Berry. This should help them, as they ranked 31st against the pass last season.
