Burfict, 28, has been with the Bengals since 2012 after signing as an undrafted free agent. Since that time he has 610 total tackles, four forced fumbles, five fumbles recovered and five interceptions.
He has had trouble playing without getting penalized over his career. He led the league with 13 penalties and eight personal fouls in 2013 and has had similar issues in other years with Cincinnati.
The Bengals have a new head coach in Zac Taylor, who will move on without Burfict. Cincinnati will likely be targeting linebackers in the 2019 NFL Draft, as the linebacking core wasn’t great last year and now they will be without one more player.
