The ten rarest Fortnite skins

Publish Date: August 8, 2021

even though Fortnite is a free-to-play game, gamers still spend a lot of money on in-game cosmetics. Players often use skins and accessories to show off their particular style and flair, a bit like being Cristiano Ronaldo when playing a virtual sports game. A small number of Fortnite’s hundreds of skins are either rare or expensive. Many of these skins were cross-promotional exclusives, were only available for a limited time in the Epic Games Store, or were disliked on their initial release and were never re-listed.

The top 10 rarest or most sought-after skins in the Fortnite universe are listed below. This list is susceptible to change due to the game’s fast-paced nature, as

Epic Games could release any of these high-demand skins in the accessory shop, lowering their rarity or worth. Currently, though, these are the most sought-after and scarce Fortnite skins.

Recon Expert

This skin was available for roughly a month when Epic Games first released Fortnite: Battle Royale. This skin reappeared a few times in October and November 2017, but for extremely brief periods. Despite being gone for nearly 900 days, this skin reappeared in the in-game store near the end of May. What used to be a hallmark of a seasoned Fortnite player is now a skin that appears to be worn by a growing number of people. Despite its famous status in Fortnite’s history, many players do not consider the skin very exceptional, as it lacks the flashiness of some of the other Rare and Legendary in-game skins.

Blue Team Leader

This one was exclusively available to PSPlus subscribers. As a result, there are a lot of people who have this skin on their PlayStation. However, because it is only available to specific console users, it is more limited than those available in the shop. It was likewise a PSPlus exclusive for a short period before being replaced. As a result, it’s one of the most sought-after Fortnite skins in 2021, but only on specific platforms and lobbies.

The Reaper

The Reaper, who was the reward for maxing out the Chapter 1 Season 3 Battle Pass at Level 100, will be remembered fondly by OG players. The skin, which was clearly modelled on Keanu Reeves’ character John Wick, has been a running joke in the Fortnite community. Then, in 2019, Epic Games debuted an official John Wick skin to Fortnite, which caused a stir. This means there are two almost identical skins in the game. However, while the John Wick skin has appeared in the Item Shop several times and is very frequent, The Reaper is extremely rare.

Skull Trooper

When most people think of uncommon Fortnite skins, the Skull Trooper skin is probably the first that comes to mind. This coveted skin first emerged in Fortnite’s item shop in October 2017, right at the start of the battle royale game’s spectacular journey to the top. It has resurfaced in the item shop a few times since then, so it isn’t as rare as some of the other skins on our list, but it’s still challenging to come by given that it’s only available during certain seasons of the year. The purple edition is even unusual, as it is only available to those who purchased Skull Trooper when it was initially launched.

Renegade Raider

Players that reached level 20 during the first season of Fortnite were able to access particular products in the shop. These goodies contained two skins, one of which was the Renegade Raider, which was based on the model of Headhunter from Fortnite’s Save the World mode, which was initially intended to be Fortnite before the battle royale’s popularity exploded. Renegade raider is one of the rarest Fortnite skins, and it was purchased for 1200 V-bucks by players who wanted to spend a little extra money on the game.

Double Helix

One of the rarest Fortnite skins is the Double Helix. It’s only available as part of a Nintendo Switch hardware package. Thus it’ll only be available to those who bought this specific Switch SKU.

Hyperion

The Hyperion costume was launched in February 2018 as part of the Hyper collection. It was last seen 702 days ago, making it one of Fortnite’s most elusive outfits. In Fortnite, the Hyperion outfit was the male equivalent of the Dazzle outfit. The Hyperion set’s blazing orange and dark purple appearance help gamers stand out in a crowd.

Aerial Assault Trooper

Aerial Assault Trooper, one of the older skins on this list, has been around since Season 1. It was available for purchase once players reached Level 15 in the game. It is scarce because this skin predates the Battle Pass system and has been present since the beginning of the game. What makes this skin particularly rarer is that despite its low level compared to some of the other Battle Pass rares, it’s simple design caused gamers to overlook it when it was available. What’s the result? Due to a small number of people choosing to purchase it, its rarity has increased. This skin is highly sought after nowadays, as it indicates that a player has been playing Fortnite since the beginning.

Moisty Merman

Do you want to appear obnoxious? This is the skin you’ve been looking for! That’s a little harsh; this skin is also really good in specific ways. It’s obnoxious and annoying, but that’s half the joy of owning the most valuable Fortnite skins in 2021. Since his release, the Fishman has returned a few times, but he isn’t a regular fixture in the store’s rotation, particularly now that the game has many licenced monster skins to offer to gamers.

Royale Bomber

The Royale Bomber is another skin you’re unlikely to see in Fortnite. In 2018, the skin was first made available as part of a PlayStation 4 x Fortnite package and a DualShock 4 controller bundle. It’s still available if you look hard enough, but it won’t be cheap, and it’s probably not worth it anyhow because it’s not an intriguing skin when compared to Fortnite’s current skin selection.
