For gamers who grew out of Fortnite, it’s a shame they can’t get a refund on all their in-game purchases. That was the case until the Federal Trade Commission got involved. To gamers and even the parents of young gamers, there is a way to receive a full Fortnite account refund.
While it’s true that Epic Games owes a refund to many players, not everybody qualifies for one. Gamers who recognize themselves as one of the following are eligible for an account refund:
If applied head on over to www.ftc.gov/Fortnite and apply for a refund. To properly do so, gamers will need their Epic Account ID or a claim number. All Fortnite account refund claims must be made before January 17, 2024.
It was last year when The Federal Trade Commission stated that Epic Games, the creators of Fortnite, would pay $520 million in penalties and refunds to settle complaints about player privacy and the game’s payment method. To give a quick summary it was ruled that Epic Games were tricking players into making unintended purchases.
At the conclusion of the Fortnite FTC Settlement, Epic Games agreed to pay a $275 million fine to settle allegations that they were collecting personal information on Fortnite players under the age of 13 without the consent of an adult. Overall though It was the $245 million settlement in consumer refunds that made it possible for accounts to be refunded.
