After many years in the spotlight, Fortnite has decided to make a change that will certainly split the fanbase. Fortnite Zero Build will be added as a brand new mode to the game. This comes after a little over a week of testing to see what the fanbase would think. According to the Press Release, the new mechanics added for this mode, were very popular. Here is the latest on Fortnite Zero Build.

Fortnite Zero Build Gameplay Trailer – No Build Battle Royale
Along with sprinting in the game comes a lot of new mechanics. Here is what the Fortnite team have to say.
“Without building, all players have the recharging Overshield as your first line of defense in Zero Build. Zip up Ascenders to access Blimps or use Mantling to get the high-ground over your opponents. Don’t forget to Sprint between cover on your way to a Victory Royale!”
It is clear that Zero Build is going to be less about lightening speed and reactions and more for shooting. This is what the Dev Team believe as well.
“Zero Build is a pure test of weapon, item, and traversal ability. Zero Build can be found in the Discover page as Solo, Duos, Trios, and Squads playlists. (Access the Discover page by clicking on the “CHANGE” button above “PLAY!” in the Lobby.) ”
There is no doubt that some fans are going to love this mode and others will hate it. Those that have mastered building will likely not want to change. For those who may not be as great at building, Zero Build brings the game more in line with the other Battle Royales out there.
One has to wonder whether a falling player base is what is driving this change? Building was the hallmark for Fortnite when it arrived and adding this mode around this time makes the game feel a bit more like Apex Legends or PUBG or more in reality, a combination of both.
