A new Guilty Gear in 2020 sounds like a dream come true. Just before the Smash Ultimate Top 8, Arc System works took the stage and rocked the house. CCO Daisuke Ishiwatari apologized for missing EVO the last two years however he made up for it and showed off where he’s been.
If You Don’t Know
Arc System Works made Guilty Gear, Blazblue, Blazblue Tag Battle, and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Every one of these games have fluid game play, unique characters and top-tier soundtracks. These “anime games” heavily focus on execution and movement. Characters are unique and some only shine in the hands of the best. Franchise favorites Ky Kiske and Sol Badguy took turns showing off how they move in the new 2.5D animation.
New Yet Familiar
Auto combos popularized in Arc System’s other title, Dragon Ball FighterZ are in the new game. Breakable walls and multi-level stages add new levels of complexity. The game’s art is also more akin to a moving cinematic just like DBFZ and has the same attention to detail that fans look for. We’ll keep you posted on Guilty Gear 2020.
