Hyuga Dropped From Team After Molestation Charges

The Game Haus StaffBy The Game Haus StaffJuly 18, 20162 Mins Read

Cristian Medina, also known as Hyuga in the Smash Bros scene, has been dropped from team VGBootCamp after he allegedly molested a fellow player during the EVO 2016 event. Player Victoria Perez, or VikkiKitty, posted about the incident on her twitter account which has since been deleted after receiving backlash for the allegations. In her post, Perez alleges that Medina molested her in the middle of the night after her and her room mates allowed him to stay in their room.

“I really don’t know how to write this because this has never happened to me before but last night I was molested by Hyuga,” Perez wrote. “We let him into our room because we did not want him wandering around Las Vegas drunk and alone.”

The post goes on to describe the incident in full detail, and disclose who else witnessed the event. After the post VGBootCamp posted publicly on their Facebook account, announcing that Hyuga had been dropped.

“This afternoon we heard accusations that our player, “Hyuga”, groped a woman of the smash community sometime early this morning as she tried to sleep.VGBootCamp wrote. “After talking to all parties and witnesses involved we believe that these accusations are true. Although he was heavily intoxicated during the incident there is absolutely no excuse for his actions. Starting immediately, Hyuga will no longer be a representative of the VGBC pro team.”

Medina has also been banned from an upcoming Smash tournament Shine 2016. Shine tournament organizers posted on their official Faceboook page: “In light of recent events and the evidence submitted, Hyuga will be banned from all future Big Blue eSports events, and also Shine 2016. We will re-evaluate his eligibility at our events in a future date no earlier than 2017.”

Medina has since deleted his twitter account and has not made a statement since the allegations were made public.
