Underrated and Risky Fantasy TEs Going Into Week 6

With Week 6 on the horizon, let’s take a look at some underrated and risky fantasy football tight end options for this week. You can also check out my full fantasy football tight end rankings for Week 6.

Underrated Fantasy Tight End Options for Week 6:

Tucker Kraft:

Kraft and the Packers‘ offense have a favorable matchup against a Cowboys defense that has been dominated all season. The Cowboys’ defense ranks 31st in total yards allowed per game (395.4) and 32nd in points allowed per game (30.1). These numbers suggest that the Packers’ offense, which is already in good form after a one-sided win against Chicago last week, should be able to find more success. Kraft is definitely one of the more underrated fantasy tight ends this week in what is a favorable home matchup for the Packers.

Dallas Goedert:

The Eagles‘ offense has been hit hard by the injury bug at the moment. The running back room is as thin as it can get, with Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele expected to take on bigger roles due to injuries to Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley. To make matters worse, quarterback Jalen Hurts is out for Sunday’s game against the Panthers with a blood clot in his calf, and DeVonta Smith’s status is uncertain.

Goedert could certainly be a risky fantasy start due to the injuries on offense, but I actually think he may be one of the more reliable weapons who could see increased targets with many of the Eagles’ top players sidelined. I’d consider Goedert an underrated tight end this week in deeper leagues.

Tyler Higbee:

Since Week 3, Higbee has been one of the best tight ends in fantasy and seems to have hit his stride with the offense. Higbee, a longtime Ram, has plenty of experience within the Rams‘ system, which uses a heavy rotation of tight ends. He’s coming off a great game against Buffalo, where he hauled in five passes for 83 yards. The Cardinals rank 25th in the league in passing defense, so there’s a good chance Higbee keeps his string of strong performances going in Week 6.

Risky Fantasy Tight End Options for Week 6:

Colston Loveland:

Many experts and fans expected Loveland to have a breakout season in 2026, but his performances have been quite lackluster through the first five weeks. A large part of that has to do with Caleb Williams’ injury, but there should still be more production coming from Loveland and the Bears. With Williams expected back this week, there’s a chance Loveland finally breaks out, but given his underwhelming fantasy scores through five weeks, I’d say benching Loveland is justified until he shows improvement.

Brenton Strange:

Strange has been one of the more consistent fantasy tight ends through five weeks and had another strong game in Week 5 against the Eagles, catching seven passes for 68 yards. Despite Strange gaining some momentum within the Jaguars‘ offense, I think he might find more difficulty against a stout Texans defense. The Texans have one of the deeper secondary units in the league, and I’d consider Strange a riskier start this week.
