Fantasy football drafts are going on across the country across a lot of different platforms. Every platform has different rankings, which makes drafts go differently. There is value to be had on different platforms. Here are players to target in ESPN fantasy drafts.
J.K. Dobbins, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Dobbins was formerly negotiating a new contract, which maybe hurt his stock on ESPN. On top of that, he has had injuries in his short NFL career and the Ravens have a new offensive coordinator in Todd Monken. Even so, Dobbins is still undervalued.
He is ranked at 90 overall in standard scoring ESPN mock draft lobbies. Dobbins averaged 9.3 points per game last season and with a full season would rank near top 20 for a fantasy running back. Fantasy managers who miss on running backs early can feel good about Dobbins.
Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
Kamara’s value has been hurt by a three-game suspension. The Saints also drafted Kendre Miller and signed Jamaal Williams. Kamara is still a possible RB1 after he returns from his suspension.
ESPN has him ranked 57th overall in standard-scoring leagues. He averaged 10.3 points per game and with better quarterback play this season, he could have more open room to run and more scoring opportunities. Waiting out a three-game suspension for Kamara is well worth it.
George Pickens, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pickens had a good rookie season, but still seems undervalued by ESPN. He finished the 2022 season with 52 receptions for 801 yards and four touchdowns. Despite that, he is ranked 95th for ESPN’s standard scoring leagues.
After showing some promise last season, Pickens will likely be more productive in his second season. The Steelers traded away Chase Claypool midway through last season. Kenny Pickett should also improve, as well as his chemistry with Pickens, which helps his value.
Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers
Jones seems to be a player that has been undervalued for the last few seasons. There is some concern this season over how successful the Packers’ offense will do without Aaron Rodgers, but they will likely need to lean on their running game.
Last season, Jones ranked 11th for standard-scoring running backs, but is ranked 37th overall this season by ESPN. He has the ability to run the ball, but should also be a nice security blanket for new starting quarterback Jordan Love in the passing game. He can be selected a little earlier than his ESPN projection and still provide value.
Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions
Gibbs is just a rookie, but showed his immense talent at Georgia Tech then Alabama during his college career. Rookie running backs usually provide good value if they are going to see a lot of work and Gibbs is no different.
ESPN has Gibbs ranked 35th overall, but with the reports from camp being glowing about Gibbs, that may be too low. He will make an impact running the ball and catching it, with the ability to be dynamic with the ball in his hands. Gibbs can have a great first season with the Lions and outperform his ESPN ranking.
