Fantasy Football Week 6 Wide Receiver Rankings

Publish Date: October 12, 2023

The 2023-24 NFL season has been outstanding so far. Already there have been a ton of breakout players and fantasy duds that have made the game so entertaining. Bye weeks are starting to take place. This means that wide receivers like George Pickens and Romeo Doubs will be out this week. On top of that injuries have started to mount up at this point of the season. It is always a great idea to evaluate backup options so that way fantasy managers are prepared if star players miss time. Here are the fantasy football week 6 wide receiver rankings.

*Ratings are subject to change due to injury reports or possible move to the Injured Reserve List

(Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week)

Key:

Must Start- a player who is in your lineup regardless of the matchup or most circumstances. They will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and in most weeks.

Starting WR1- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a high floor.

High WR2- a player who may not be likely to carry a lineup that week, but has the ability to have a breakout game and is teetering between WR1 and WR2 territory.

Starting WR2- a player who should be started in most lineups and should reach their point projection. This player is started is because of their consistency and moderately high floor

Low WR2- a player who may not be a lock to start for a team every week, but will start more times than not. Their production may not be pretty or win a person their lineup but the production is consistent enough to make a fantasy owner comfortable starting them.

Flex- a player who could float around the territory of being benched, but is started due to the potential to play better than their point projection. However, this player has the potential to flop and cause a fantasy team to lose if he has a bad game.

Deeper League Flex- a player who has starting value in deeper leagues. There are enough reasons to leave this player on the bench, but their upside makes them an attractive option. Desperate times may call for a player like this to be inserted into starting lineups.

Upside Player- a player who is boom or bust. This player can exceed expectations in a given week or could flop and be the reason why someone lost their fantasy matchup.

Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

Possible Changes that can occur before Sunday

Las Vegas Raiders Wide Receivers: WR5 Davante Adams & WR23 Jakobi Meyers

Davante Adams missed practice on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. Jakobi Meyers was limited in practice on Wednesday with a wrist injury. If Adams misses Week 6 against the New England Patriots and Meyers is active Meyers moves up to WR16 between DeAndre Hopkins and Garrett Wilson. Hunter Renfrow moves up to WR70 between Skyy Moore and Darius Slayton.

If Meyers misses Week 6 against the New England Patriots and Adams is active Hunter Renfrow moves up to WR70 between Skyy Moore and Darius Slayton.

If both Adams and Meyers miss Week 6 against the New England Patriots Hunter Renfrow moves up to WR47 between Wan’Dale Robinson and Curtis Samuel.

WR6 Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions

Amon-Ra St. Brown missed last week’s game with an abdominal injury. St. Brown was limited in practice on Wednesday. If St. Brown misses Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Josh Reynolds moves up to WR32 between Zay Flowers and K.J. Osborn. Jameson Williams moves up to WR49 between DJ Chark and Michael Gallup. Khalif Raymond becomes the WR66 between Marvin Mims Jr. and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

WR10 Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans missed practice on Wednesday with a hamstring injury. It is unclear if his injury from two weeks ago will hold him out from any games after their bye. If Evans misses Week 6 against the Detroit Lions Chris Godwin moves up to WR14 between Adam Thielen and Calvin Ridley. Deven Thompkins becomes the WR58 between Rondale Moore and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Trey Palmer becomes the WR80 between Alec Pierce and Rashod Bateman.

WR19 Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, Arizona Cardinals

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown missed practice on Wednesday because of an illness. It is unclear if this illness will hold him out of this week’s game. If Brown misses Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams Michael Wilson moves up to WR33 between K.J. Osborn and Tyler Lockett. Rondale Moore becomes the WR45 between Elijah Moore and Jerry Jeudy.

WR20 Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals

Tee Higgins missed last week’s game with a rib injury. He was limited in practice on Wednesday. If Higgins misses Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks Tyler Boyd moves up to WR33 between K.J. Osborn and Tyler Lockett.

WR22 D.K. Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks

D.K. Metcalf missed practice on Wednesday with a rib injury. It is unclear if this injury will keep Metcalf out of this week’s game. If Metcalf misses Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals Tyler Lockett moves up to WR31 between DeVonta Smith and Zay Flowers. Jaxon Smith-Njigba moves up to WR35 between Gabriel Davis and Courtland Sutton.

WR25 Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints

Chris Olave was limited in practice on Wednesday with a toe injury. If Olave misses Week 6 against the Houston Texans Michael Thomas moves up to WR25 between Michael Pittman Jr. and Brandon Aiyuk. Rasheed Shaheed moves up to WR45 between Elijah Moore and Jerry Jeudy.

WR28 Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings

Jordan Addison was limited in practice on Wednesday with an ankle injury. He is slated to be Minnesota’s top pass catcher now that Justin Jefferson is on Injured Reserve. If Addison misses Week 6 against the Chicago Bears K.J. Osborn moves up to WR26 between Chris Olave and Brandon Aiyuk. Brandon Powell becomes the WR48 between Curtis Samuel and DJ Chark.

WR47 Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants

Wan’Dale Robinson missed practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. If Robinson misses Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins Darius Slayton moves up to WR49 between DJ Chark and Michael Gallup. WR63 Odell Beckham Jr., Baltimore Ravens

Odell Beckham Jr. was limited in practice with an ankle injury. He missed two games this season because of the injury. If he was to miss Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans Nelson Agholor would move up to WR50 between Michael Gallup and Kendrick Bourne. Rashod Bateman would move up to WR77 between Mack Hollins and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

WR67 JuJu Smith-Schuster, New England Patriots

JuJu Smith-Schuster missed practice on Wednesday with a concussion. If Smith-Schuster misses Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders Demario “Pop” Douglas becomes the WR81 between Rashod Bateman and Parris Campbell. Kayson Boutee becomes the WR86 between Van Jefferson and Chase Claypool.

WR73 Braxton Berrios, Miami Dolphins

Braxton Berrios was limited in practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. If Berrios misses Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers Cedrick Wilson Jr. becomes the WR76 between Donovan Peoples-Jones and Mack Hollins.

Players that are currently not expected to play

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings

Justin Jefferson was placed on Injured Reserve with a hamstring injury. It is unclear how much time Jefferson is expected to miss. It is widely believed that his status for the rest of the season is dependent on the team’s record by the time he is ready to return. Given his contract status and the team’s poor record, he could be cautious with his return. Jordan Addison and K.J. Osborn will be the team’s top two wide receivers in Jefferson’s absence.

Tank Dell, Houston Texans

Tank Dell missed practice on Wednesday with a concussion. It is likely that Dell will miss this week’s game. If Dell is active in Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints he slots in at WR55 between Kadarius Toney and Michael Wilson. In Dell’s absence, 2022 second-round pick John Metchie III could have an expanded role.

Zay Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars

Zay Jones missed practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. He has been dealing with a knee injury all season. Jones will likely miss at least one more game with the injury after returning last week. Jamal Agnew or Tim Jones will likely be the third receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars while he’s out

Treylon Burks, Tennessee Titans

Treylon Burks missed practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. He has missed the past two games with the injury. In his absence Nick Westbrook-Ihkine and Chris Moore will be Tennessee’s top pass catchers besides DeAndre Hopkins.
