The 2022-23 NFL season has already been extremely entertaining. It has shown fantasy trends that have started to develop and show what could happen the rest of the season. Already some players have proven to be fantasy relevant while some fantasy stars have been alarmingly disappointing to this point. Injuries have started to mount up this season. It is always a great idea to evaluate backup options so that way fantasy managers are prepared if star players miss time. Here are the Week 5 fantasy football wide receiver rankings.

(Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week)
Key:
Must Start- a player who is in your lineup regardless of the matchup or most circumstances. They will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and in most weeks.
Starting WR1- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a high floor.
High WR2- a player who may isn’t likely to carry a lineup that week, but has the ability to have a breakout game and is teetering between WR1 and WR2 category.
Starting WR2- a player who should be started in most lineups and should reach their point projection. This player is started is because of their consistency and moderately high floor
Low WR2- a player who may not be a lock to start for a team every week, but will start more times than not. Their production may not be pretty or win a person their lineup but the production is consistent enough to make a fantasy owner comfortable starting them.
Flex- a player who could float around the territory of being benched, but is started due to the potential to play better than their point projection. However, this player has the potential to flop and causes a fantasy team to lose if he has a bad game.
Deeper League Flex- a player who has starting value in deeper leagues. There are enough reasons to leave this player on the bench, but their upside makes them an attractive option. Desperate times may call for a player like this to be inserted into starting lineups.
Upside Player- a player who is boom or bust. This player can exceed expectations in a given week or could flop and be the reason why someone lost their fantasy matchup.
Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

Possible Changes that can occur before Sunday
Detroit Lions Wide Receivers: WR7 Amon-Ra St. Brown & WR48 DJ Chark
Amon-Ra St. Brown missed last week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks with an ankle injury. DJ Chark also missed last week’s game with an ankle issue. If both St. Brown and Chark miss this game against the New England Patriots, then Josh Reynolds moves up to WR35 between Jakobi Meyers and Rashod Bateman. Quintez Cephus or Tom Kennedy then becomes an interesting DFS play next week.
If St. Brown misses this game and Chark his healthy Reynolds moves up to WR41 between Gabe Davis and Michael Gallup. Chark then remains at WR48.
If St. Brown plays and Chark misses this game Josh Reynolds would move up to WR48 between George Pickens and Mack Hollins.
WR11 Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals
Tee Higgins suffered an ankle injury against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday. If Higgins misses this week against the Baltimore Ravens then Tyler Boyd moves up to WR27 between Robert woods and Mike Williams.
WR13 Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers
Keenan Allen missed Los Angeles’ past three games with a hamstring injury. He is expected to resume playing this week. If Allen cannot play against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday then Mike Williams moves up to WR24 between DeVonta Smith and D.K. Metcalf. Joshua Palmer moves up to WR45 between Jerry Jeudy and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. DeAndre Carter join the list to WR67 between Marvin Jones Jr. and Mecole Hardman.
WR23 Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints
Michael Thomas missed last week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings with a toe injury. If Thomas does not play against the Seattle Seahawks then Chris Olave retains his value at WR19 and Jarvis Landry. moves up to WR58 between Devin Duvernay and Nico Collins.
WR35 Jakobi Meyers, New England Patriots
Jakobi Meyers missed the past two games because of a knee issue. If Meyers is to miss this week’s game against the Green Bay Packers then DeVante Parker would move up to WR39 between Hunter Renfrow and D.J. Moore. Nelson Agholor would then move up to WR45 between Jerry Jeudy and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
WR36 Rashod Bateman, Baltimore Ravens
Rashod Bateman missed the fourth quarter of last week’s game against the Buffalo Bills with a foot injury. If Bateman was to miss this week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals then Devin Duvernay would move up to WR41 between Gabe Davis and Michael Gallup.
WR39 Hunter Renfrow, Las Vegas Raiders
Hunter Renfrow missed the past two games because of a concussion. If Renfrow misses this week’s game against the Denver Broncos then Mack Hollins will move up to WR44 between Jerry Jeudy and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
WR38 Zay Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars
Zay Jones missed last week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with an ankle injury. Head coach Doug Pederson think’s that Jones will play this week against Houston. If Jones cannot play this week then Jamal Agnew moves up to WR42 between Michael Gallup and Allen Lazard.
WR52 Julio Jones, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Julio Jones his dealing with an undisclosed injury that he suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. If Jones cannot play against the Atlanta Falcons this week then Russell Gage moves up to WR53 between Darnell Mooney and Isaiah McKenzie.
WR54 Isaiah McKenzie, Buffalo Bills
Isaiah McKenzie was placed in concussion protocols after this past weekend’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. If he cannot play this week Khalil Shakir will join the list at WR68 between Mecole Hardman and Robbie Anderson.
WR56 Noah Brown, Dallas Cowboys
Noah Brown suffered a neck injury during last week’s game against the Washington Commanders. If he cannot play this week against the Los Angeles Rams then Michael Gallup moves up to WR40 between Hunter Renfrow and D.J. Moore.
New York Giants Wide Receivers: WR74 Wan’Dale Robinson & WR78 Kadarius Toney
Wan’Dale Robinson missed the past three games with a knee injury. Kadarius Toney has been dealing with a hamstring issue. Now that Sterling Shepard is out for the season it is hard to navigate which receivers will consistently see work for the Giants past Richie James.
