Fantasy Football Week 4 Wide Receiver Rankings

Publish Date: September 26, 2024

The 2024-25 NFL season has begun which means fantasy football is back! The fantasy landscape has already changed since the preseason due to breakout players and major injuries across the league. This makes it the appropriate time of year to begin deferring from some of the players originally drafted to be starters and play some of the players that have overperformed this season as opposed to performing at their preseason expectation. Since every week is important it would be irresponsible to start a player with a rough matchup over a player with a more favorable one that is ranked or projected to perform similarly. Here are fantasy football Week 4 wide receiver rankings.

[Ratings are subject to change due to injury reports or possible move to Injured Reserve List]

[Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week]

Key:

Must Start- a player who is in your lineup regardless of the matchup or most circumstances. They will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and in most weeks.

Starting WR1- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a high floor.

High WR2- a player who may not be likely to carry a lineup that week, but has the ability to have a breakout game and is teetering between WR1 and WR2 territory.

Starting WR2- a player who should be started in most lineups and should reach their point projection. This player is started because of their consistency and moderately high floor

Low WR2- a player who may not be a lock to start for a team every week, but will start more times than not. Their production may not be pretty or win a person their lineup but the production is consistent enough to make a fantasy owner comfortable starting them.

Flex- a player who could float around the territory of being benched, but is started due to the potential to play better than their point projection. However, this player has the potential to flop and cause a fantasy team to lose if he has a bad game.

Deeper League Flex- a player who has starting value in deeper leagues. There are enough reasons to leave this player on the bench, but their upside makes them an attractive option. Desperate times may call for a player like this to be inserted into starting lineups.

Upside Player- a player who is boom or bust. This player can exceed expectations in a given week or could flop and be the reason why someone lost their fantasy matchup.

Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

Players that could miss this week’s game

WR3 Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals

Ja’Marr Chase was limited in practice on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. It doesn’t seem that this injury could affect Chase’s status for this week’s game. If Chase misses Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers Tee Higgins moves up to WR25 between Jayden Reed and George Pickens. Andrei Iosivas moves up to WR48 between Jordan Addison and Ladd McConkey.

WR7 DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles

DeVonta Smith missed practice on Wednesday with a concussion. It seems unlikely that Smith will play this week. If Smith misses Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jahan Dotson becomes the WR46 between Xavier Worthy and Jordan Addison. Parris Campbell becomes the WR82 between Jordan Whittington and Rashid Bateman.

WR8 Marvin Harrison Jr., Arizona Cardinals

Marvin Harrison Jr. was limited in practice on Wednesday with a quad injury. It appears that the Cardinals are being conservative with Harrison Jr. this week. If Harrison Jr. misses Week 4 against the Washington Commanders Michael Wilson moves up to WR31 between Keenan Allen and Jameson Williams. Greg Dortch becomes the WR44 between Christian Kirk and Rashid Shaheed.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Recevers: WR10 Chris Godwin & WR18 Mike Evans

Chris Godwin was limited in practice on Wednesday with a neck injury. Mike Evans was limited in practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. If both Godwin and Evans miss Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles Jalen McMillan moves up to WR31 between Jameson Williams and Tank Dell. Trey Palmer becomes WR53 between Demario “Pop” Douglas and Jonathan Mingo.

If Evans plays in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles and Godwin is inactive, Evans moves up to WR13 between Stefon Diggs and Davante Adams. Jalen McMillan moves up to WR58 between Jakobi Meyers and Romeo Doubs.

If Godwin plays in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles and Evans is inactive, Jalen McMillan moves up to WR58 between Jakobi Meyers and Romeo Doubs.

WR25 Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers

Jayden Reed missed practice on Wednesday with a calf and quad injury. He dealt with his injuries for the past few weeks. If Reed misses Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings Romeo Doubs moves up to WR45 between Rashid Shaheed and Xavier Worthy, Christian Watson moves up to WR48 between Jordan Addison and Jerry Jeudy. Dontayvion Wicks moves up to WR62 between Greg Dortch and Josh Downs.

WR31 Keenan Allen, Chicago Bears

Keenan Allen the past two games with a heel injury. He was limited in practice in practice on Wednesday. If Allen misses Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams Rome Oduzne moves up to WR27 between Amari Cooper and Calvin Ridley.

WR33 Tank Dell, Houston Texans

Tank Dell missed practice on Thursday with a chest injury. He is unlikely to play in this week’s game. If Dell misses Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars Xavier Hutchinson, John Metchie III, and Robert Woods should rotate in as the third receiver for three receiver set for the Texans.

WR50 Gabe Davis, Jacksonville Jaguars

Gabe Davis was limited in practice on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. If Davis misses Week 4 against the Houston Texans Brian Thomas Jr. moves up to WR37 between Wan’Dale Robinson and Michael Pittman Jr. Christian Kirk moves up to WR42 between Quentin Johnston and Tyler Lockett.

WR60 Josh Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers

Josh Palmer missed last week’s game with an elbow and calf injury. He was limited in practice on Wednesday with both injuries. He has been dealing with a couple of injuries since the beginning of the season. If Palmer misses Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey retain their current rankings.

WR69 Josh Reynolds, Denver Broncos

Josh Reynolds was limited in practice on Wednesday with an Achilles injury. He has been limited with this injury in practice for weeks. If Reynolds misses Week 4 against the New York Jets Marvin Mims Jr. and Troy Franklin could see elevated roles for Denver’s offense.

WR86 Darius Slayton, New York Giants

Darius Slayton is currently questionable to play this week because of a thumb injury. If Slayton misses Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys Jalin Hyatt becomes the WR87 between Jalen Nailor and K.J. Osborn.

Players that are currently not expected to play

Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers

Adam Thielen was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. He will now miss at least the next four games because of the injury. While Thielen is out rookie Xavier Legette and second year receiver Jonathan Mingo should elevate into full-time starters for the Panthers.
