Fantasy Football Week 4 Tight End Rankings

Publish Date: September 24, 2025

The 2025-26 NFL season is underway which means we are in the thick of fantasy football season! The fantasy landscape has already changed since the preseason due to breakout players and major injuries across the league. This makes it the appropriate time of year to begin deferring from some of the players originally drafted to be starters and play some of the players that have over-performed this season as opposed to performing at their preseason expectation. It would be irresponsible to start a player with a rough matchup over a player with a more favorable one that is ranked or projected to perform similarly. Here are fantasy football week 4 tight end rankings.

*Ratings are subject to change due to injury reports or possible move to the Injured Reserve List

(Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week)

Key:

Must Start- a player who is in your lineup regardless of the matchup or most circumstances. They Will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and in most weeks.

Starting TE1- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a solid floor.

Touchdown Dependent Starter- a player who may not be a lock to start for a team every week, but will start more times than not because of depth at the position. Their production is based on whether they can get in the end zone or not. It can be the difference between a top 10 performance or a top 25 performance

Deep League Starter- a player whose ceiling isn’t high but should put up enough production to be started in deep leagues. When a player like this is started it is because their production though it will likely be low, will be better than a few options.

Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

Players that could miss this week’s game

TE15 Evan Engram, Denver Broncos

Evan Engram missed last week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers with a back injury. It is unclear if this injury will affect his status for this week’s game. If Engram misses Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts Adam Trautman becomes TE31 between Oronde Gadsen II and Pat Freiermuth.

TE24 Noah Fant, Cincinnati Bengals

Noah Fant suffered a concussion last week against the Minnesota Vikings. It is on pace to play but it feels unlikely given the nature of the injury. If Fant misses Week 4 against the Denver Broncos Mike Gesicki becomes TE26 between Colston Loveland and Jake Tonges.

TE28 Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens

Isaiah Likely missed the first three games of the season with a foot injury he suffered during training camp. This is the first week where Likely has a chance to make his season debut. If Likely misses Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs it locks Mark Andrews in as TE12 for the week.

TE29 Darren Waller, Miami Dolphins

Darren Waller missed the first three games of the season with a hip injury. When he returns Waller is expected to be on a pitch count because it has been a few years since Waller has suited up on an NFL field. If Waller misses Week 4 against the New York Jets Tanner Conner will likely start at tight end for the Miami Dolphins.

TE30 Michael Mayer, Las Vegas Raiders

Michael Mayer suffered a concussion last week agains the Washington Commanders. This makes it unlikely for Mayer to suit up this week. If Mayer misses Week 4 against the Chicago Bears veteran Ian Thomas will fill in his role in the offense.

Players that are currently not expected to play

Ja’Tavion Sanders, Carolina Panthers

Ja’Tavion Sanders suffered a high ankle sprain last week against the Atlanta Falcons. He appeared to have taken a step forward from his first season to his second year. While Sanders is out Tommy Tremble will start at tight end for the Carolina Panthers and won’t likely have fantasy value except in the deepest of leagues.
