The 2025-26 NFL season has been outstanding so far. Already there have been a ton of breakout players and fantasy duds that have made the game so entertaining. Bye weeks are officially over. This means that playoffs have likely began in your fantasy leagues. During the playoffs Fantasy Managers will have full utilization of their roster and need to make sure they have backup options on their roster incase their stars get hurt. There have plenty of injuries this season to crucial players that make the pool of players to choose from on waivers that much thinner. It’s always a great idea to evaluate backup options so that way fantasy managers are prepared if star players miss time. Here are the fantasy football week 15 running back rankings.
[Ratings are subject to change due to injury reports or possible move to Injured Reserve List]
[Check out the section below for details on players already rumored to possibly miss this week and how their replacement options rank for the week]
Must Start- a player who is in your lineup regardless of the matchup or most circumstances. They Will likely finish near the top of the league in points that week and in most weeks.
Starting RB1- a player who makes fantasy owners comfortable starting week after week. Regardless of the matchup, this player has a high floor.
High-End RB2- a player who may not be likely to carry a lineup that week, but has the ability to have a breakout game and is teetering between RB1 and RB2 territory.
Starting RB2- a player who should be started in most lineups and should reach their point projection. This player is started because of their consistency and moderately high floor.
Low RB2- a player who may not be a lock to start for a team every week, but will start more times than not. Their production may not be pretty or win a person their lineup but the production is consistent enough to make a fantasy owner comfortable starting them.
Flex- a player who could float around the territory of being benched, but is started due to the potential to play better than their point projection. However, this player has the potential to flop and cause a fantasy team to lose if he has a bad game.
Deep League Flex- a player who is more of a Hail Mary throw at the position. There are enough reasons to leave this player on the bench, but their upside makes them an attractive option. Desperate times may call for a player like this to be inserted into starting lineups.
Leave on the Bench- a player who should be avoided in all lineups that week. Many times this player could even be left on waivers.

RB3 De’Von Achane, Miami Dolphins
De’Von Achane suffered a rib injury last week against the New York Jets. He is expected to be held out of “some practice sessions” this week. If Achane misses Week 15 against the Pittsburgh Steelers Jaylen Wright moves up to RB20 between Omarion Hampton and Breece Hall. Ollie Gordon II becomes RB49 between Bhayshul Tuten and Devin Neal.
RB8 Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers
Josh Jacobs missed practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. He has been dealing with this injury for a few weeks. If Jacobs misses Week 15 against the Denver Broncos Emanuel Wilson moves up to RB23 between Alvin Kamara and Woody Marks.
RB21 Breece Hall, New York Jets
Breece Hall missed practice on Wednesday with a knee injury. It is unclear if this injury could cause him to miss time. If Hall misses Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars Isaiah Davis becomes RB36 between Chris Rodgriguez and Tyjae Spears.
New Orleans Saints Running Backs: RB23 Alvin Kamara & RB49 Devin Neal
Alvin Kamara has missed the last two games with both ankle and knee injuries. Devin Neal was limited in practice on Wednesday with an abdominal injury. If Kamara and Neal miss Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers Audric Estime becomes RB40 between Devin Singletary and Zach Charbonnet.
If Kamara misses Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers and Neal is active, Neal moves up to RB23 between Jaylen Warren and Woody Marks.
If Neal misses Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers and Kamara is active, Audric Estime becomes RB60 below Jaylen Wright.
Houston Texans Running Backs: RB24 Woody Marks & RB50 Nick Chubb
Woody Marks suffered a knee injury last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. Nick Chubb suffered a knee injury last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. If Marks and Chubb miss Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals Dare Ogunbowale becomes RB30 between Tony Pollard and D’Andre Swift.
If Marks misses Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals and Chubb is active, Chubb moves up to RB34 between Kyle Monangai and Zonovan “Bam” Knight. Ogunbowale becomes RB40 between Tyler Allgeier and Devin Singletary.
If Chubb misses Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals and Marks is active, Dare Ogunbowale becomes RB52 below Keaton Mitchell and Kimani Vidal.
RB28 Aaron Jones, Minnesota Vikings
Aaron Jones was limited in practice on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. He played through the injury last week. If Jones misses Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys Jordan Mason becomes RB27 between Chuba Hubbard. and Kenneth Walker III.
RB36 Chris Rodriguez Jr., Washington Commanders
Chris Rodriguez missed practice on Wednesday with a groin injury. It is unclear if this injury could cause him to miss time. If Rodriguez misses Week 15 against the New York Giants Jacory Croskey-Merritt moves up to RB34 between Kareem Hunt and Kyle Monangai. Jeremy McNichols moves up to RB53 between Keaton Mitchell and Kimani Vidal.

Trey Benson, Arizona Cardinals
Trey Benson did not return to practice this week after having his 21-day practice window opened three weeks ago. Once the 21-day practice window opens once a player returns from Injured Reserve they must return to practice within that time or else their season will be over according to league rules. Benson was never activated which ends his season. Zonovan “Bam” Knight will likely be the team’s starting running back for the remainder of the season. Knight will float around the RB2 radar depending on the matchup. Benson finds himself returning to a Cardinals team next year as James Conner’s backup. He will likely not have a large role in fantasy next year while Conner is healthy and on the Cardinals roster next season.
