The 2022-23 NFL season has already been extremely entertaining. Bye weeks are starting to take place. This means that quarterbacks like Justin Fields and Aaron Rodgers will be out this week. On top of that injuries have started to mount up at this point of the season. It is always a great idea to evaluate backup options so that way fantasy managers are prepared if star players miss time. QB5 Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
Tua Tagovailoa is dealing with an ankle injury following Miami’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He is currently expected to start next week against the Los Angeles Chargers. But if Tagovailoa isn’t able to start then Skylar Thompson will likely start for Miami (if Teddy Bridgewater is inactive again). If Thompson starts this week then he will become the QB17 on the week between Tom Brady and Daniel Jones.
QB12 Trevor Lawerence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence underwent an MRI Monday on his left foot. He missed some time during the game against the Detroit Lions after he was rolled up on during a sack. It’s a good sign going forward that Lawerence was able to return to finish the game. Reports say that the MRI was “merely precautionary”. However if Lawerence is unable to play against the Tennessee Titans C.J. Beathard would slot in at QB23 between Brock Purdy and John Wolford.
QB24 John Wolford, Los Angeles Rams
John Wolford was limited in practice on Tuesday because of a neck injury. There is a chance that Wolford misses Thursday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders. If Wolford misses Thursday’s game either Bryce Perkins or recently signed Baker Mayfield could start for the Rams. If Perkins or Mayfield starts for the Rams he would be the QB25 for the week between Mac Jones and Kyle Allen.
