Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 7. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are rostered in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
Tank Bigsby has continually gotten more involved in the offense as the season has gone on. In week 6, Travis Etienne left the game in London with a hamstring injury. Bigsby didn’t have a huge game with seven carries for 24 yards.
With Etienne likely missing some time, Bigsby should be added. The Jaguars surprisingly used their third-string running back D’Ernest Johnson more than expected, as he had eight touches. Bigsby figures to be the lead back for the Jaguars without Etienne and should be added. The usage of running backs is something to monitor, but Bigsby is available in over 65 percent of leagues.
Tracy has really come on as a viable running back option in the last few weeks. With Devin Singletary dealing with a groin injury, Tracy has filled in well. He rushed for 129 yards in week 5. In week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Tracy tallied 50 rushing yards, 57 receiving yards and a touchdown.
While Singletary may return soon, Tracy has run with his opportunity. He should get more chances even when Singletary does return from injury. Tracy can be picked up and played if Singletary remains out. He can be stashed if Singletary does return to see how the usage shakes out. Tracy is rostered in just 45.1 percent of ESPN leagues.
In week 6, Jordan Mason suffered an injured shoulder against the Seattle Seahawks. He returned for one play, but then left the game for good. Guerendo stepped into the lineup and produced. He finished the game with 99 rushing yards.
Mason may be able to return for week 7, but Guerendo can be added. If Mason can’t go, Guerendo can be started. Monitoring the injury situation is necessary, but adding Guerendo at the start of the week could result in another starting running back if Mason is out. Guerendo is rostered in less than one percent of ESPN leagues.
Rhamondre Stevenson missed the Patriots’ week 6 game against the Texans with a foot injury. Antonio Gibson and JaMychal Hasty both saw the field a lot in his absence. Gibson finished the day with 19 rushing yards and 24 receiving yards.
While it wasn’t the best performance for Gibson, he still will likely get most of the work if Stevenson misses more time. The Patriots will have an easier matchup in week 7, against the Jaguars, so if Stevenson misses the game Gibson could be started by managers. He is rostered in 43.2 percent of ESPN leagues.
Rachaad White missed the Buccaneers’ week 6 game against the Saints with a foot injury. The Buccaneers turned to both Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker to fill the void. Irving has been on this list before, but Tucker is on now due to his performance. He had 14 carries for 136 yards and one touchdown. Tucker added three catches for 56 yards and another touchdown.
Following the game, Todd Bowles mentioned that the Buccaneers will likely use Tucker more moving forward. They could use all three running backs for the time being. If Tucker continues to play well, he could end up getting more playing time down the stretch. He is rostered in just one percent of ESPN leagues.
