Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 16. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are rostered in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
Corum continues to get a decent amount of work for the Rams. Their offense is so good that they are supporting two running backs over the last three weeks. He had 81 yards and a touchdown in week 13. In week 14, he totaled 128 rushing yards and two touchdowns. This past week against the Lions, he had 71 rushing yards and one touchdown.
Kyren Williams is still the lead back, but the work has been more of an even split. They are using Corum to keep Williams fresh, but he gets enough work and is producing enough to be rostered in every league. Starting him every week could be tough, but when the matchups are right, he can be started. He is rostered in just 29.7 percent of ESPN leagues.
Chris Rodriguez was out with a groin injury against the Giants and Jacory Croskey-Merritt had one of his best performances of the season. He carried the ball 18 times for 96 yards and one touchdown, as the lead back on running downs, while Jeremy McNichols handled the passing-down work.
Rodriguez’s injury will have to be tracked, but Croskey-Merritt can be added in case. Like Corum, he can be played based on the matchup and on Rodriguez’s injury status. He is rostered in 47.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
Reed was injured early this season and came back two weeks ago. He is just starting to get ramped up, as he had four catches for 31 yards and two carries for 22 yards in week 14. In week 15, he had five catches for 55 yards on six targets. As he gets more comfortable, his production should increase.
Christian Watson went down with an injury in week 15, so the Packers will need Reed to step up even more down the stretch. They will likely use Reed in a variety of ways like they have in the past, as they make their push towards the playoffs. Reed is rostered in 45.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
Jaleel McLaughlin is the clear no. 2 running back in Denver. While he only had two carries for four yards against the Packers, RJ Harvey was injured late in the game. He did not return with a rib injury, so McLaughlin figures to step in if Harvey does have to miss time.
If Harvey does have to miss time, McLaughlin should be picked up this week and can be started down the stretch if needed. He is capable of being a short-yardage back and can get in the endzone. McLaughlin is rostered in 1.0 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Texans have been really banged up at running back. Joe Mixon has missed the entire season, while Nick Chubb missed last week with a rib injury. Woody Marks left the week 15 game against the Cardinals and did not return. Jordan filled in well, as he rushed 15 times for 101 yards. He also had two catches for 17 yards.
Both Marks and Chubb could end up missing next week, so Jordan can be added in case. If both are able to play, Jordan can be dropped. If Marks is the only other one healthy, Jordan could be kept, as Marks has had trouble finishing games this season. Jordan is rostered in 0.0 percent of ESPN leagues.
