Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 15. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are rostered in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
1. Sincere McCormick, RB, Las Vegas Raiders
Over the last two weeks, McCormick has received a lot of the work out of the Raiders’ backfield. In week 13, he had 12 carries for 64 yards, while in week 14 he tallied 15 carries for 78 yards. He has failed to find the end zone this season and has just four catches for 12 yards.
McCormick has taken advantage of his opportunity that came due to injury, but doesn’t look like he’s going to give up much ground even when others return. Alexander Mattison, Zamir White and Ameer Abudllah could all take touches away, but McCormick is the hot hand for now. He is rostered in 11. 2 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Patrick Taylor Jr., RB, San Francisco 49ers
The injuries to the running back position have continued for the 49ers. Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason are all out with injuries. Isaac Guerendo stepped in during week 14, but he left the game with a foot injury. Taylor Jr. then got some work for the 49ers, finishing the game with seven carries for 25 yards and a touchdown.
Taylor looks like he could be the go-to back if Guerendo ends up missing time. Guerendo was optimistic, but there are rumors it could be a high ankle sprain. If he misses time, Taylor will battle with Keshawn Vaughn and Israel Abanikanda for work, but he is in the driver’s seat. Taylor is rostered in 4.0 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. Braelon Allen, RB, New York Jets
Breece Hall was ruled out for the game against the Dolphins on Sunday. Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis split work out of the backfield, but Allen was clearly the lead back in running situations. He finished the game with 11 carries for 43 yards, which paired with his four catches for 38 yards.
Hall could return next week, but he aggravated a knee injury that happened earlier. With the Jets out of the playoff race, they could be cautious about his return. If that is the case, Allen would get a lot of work. He is rostered in 48.7 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Tank Bigsby, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Bigsby has had some good games before this season and seems to have refound his form. With Trevor Lawrence out at quarterback, the Jaguars ran the ball a lot. Bigsby finished the game with 18 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown. He also had one catch for seven yards.
Travis Etienne played against the Titans, but registered just four carries for 20 yards. Bigsby seems like the go-to for running downs for the Jaguars. While it is still hard to decide to start Bigsby with the backfield being split, he is worth picking up. He is rostered in 35.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Adam Thielen, WR, Carolina Panthers
Adam Thielen continues to build a rapport with Bryce Young, as both are playing well. He made big plays for the Panthers against the Eagles. Thielen finished the game with nine receptions for 102 yards. His 11 targets show how much Young trusts him.
After getting back into action in week 12, Thielen has picked up the pace in the last two weeks. He can be picked up and played if his hot streak continues. The Panthers will likely be down in games and have to throw. Thielen is rostered in 38.7 percent of ESPN leagues.
