Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 15. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
1. Jerick McKinnon, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
Isiah Pacheco is still getting plenty of work, but McKinnon is making the most of the opportunities in the passing game. Against the Broncos, he had seven receptions for 112 yards and two touchdowns. He also had six rushes for 22 yards.
With Pacheco still playing well, McKinnon’s opportunities will be limited, but his ability to be a weapon as a receiver makes him worth adding. The Chiefs may want to utilize him more because he is a mismatch for linebackers to cover. He is currently rostered in just 33.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens were without Lamar Jackson in week 14, but J.K. Dobbins did return. Edwards and Dobbins split the work, but as they usually do, both showed they can be productive. Edwards had 13 carries for 66 yards against the Steelers.
Even when Jackson returns, the Ravens’ offense has shown that they can support multiple running backs. Edwards and Dobbins will continue to split carries, so Edwards may be a player that is only started in desperation, but he should be rostered. He is available in 37.7 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. Tyler Allgeier, RB, Atlanta Falcons
Allgeier hasn’t been as productive as earlier in the season, but he is still getting plenty of work out of the Falcons’ backfield. He had 10 carries for 52 yards in week 13 against the Steelers before Atlanta went on a bye in week 14.
The Falcons are another team that will continue to split carries, as Cordarrelle Patterson has also been productive. Like Edwards, Allegeier can be added, but it would be a risk to start him. He is rostered in 35.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR, Cleveland Browns
Peoples-Jones has played well since the return of Deshaun Watson in week 13. He scored a punt return touchdown in week 13, while also tallying 44 receiving yards, and in week 14, Peoples-Jones had eight catches for 114 yards.
It looks like his chemistry with Watson could make him a favorite target down the stretch. Peoples-Jones can be added and held until more data is provided with Watson back on the field. Peoples-Jones is rostered in 44.3 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. D.J. Chark, WR, Detroit Lions
The Lions are passing the ball well and Chark is emerging. He came back from an ankle injury a few weeks ago and showed his talent in week 14. In the Lions’ game against the Vikings, he caught six passes for 94 yards and a touchdown.
His good game in week 14 follows a good performance in week 13 as well. As the Lions make a push for the playoffs, they will need to continue to throw the ball well, which will heavily involve Chark. He is rostered in 22.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
