Fantasy Football Players to Add Week 14

Publish Date: December 4, 2023

Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 14. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)

1. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, New England Patriots

Rhamondre Stevenson went down with an ankle injury in week 13 and did not return to the game against the Chargers. In his place, Elliott rushed 17 times for 52 yards. He also added four catches for 40 yards. The offense doesn’t score much so that’s pretty good production.

There has been no update on Stevenson’s injury, but it is fair to expect that he will be out for at least a game if not more. Elliott is going to get a big workload and is a good candidate to find the end zone if the Patriots’ offense can get in the red zone a little bit more. He is rostered in 34.1 percent of ESPN leagues.

2. Antonio Gibson, RB, Washington Commanders

Brian Robinson left the week 13 game against the Dolphins and didn’t return. In a bad weather game, Gibson stepped up with 10 carries for 35 yards and four catches for 37 yards. He failed to find the end zone, but that could change soon.

While fans await Robinson’s injury diagnosis, Gibson can be added. He will fight with Chris Rodriguez for carries, but Gibson should get more of the work heading forward. Adding Gibson is a start and he could be played depending on the matchup. He is rostered in 44.6 percent of ESPN leagues.

3. Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

D’Andre Swift had taken over the starting running back role for the Philadelphia Eagles. He had to leave the game against the 49ers with an injury and there is no update yet on how he could be. Gainwell played some even though Swift was hurt late in the game. He had two rushes for five yards and five catches for 42 yards.

Even if Swift returns from injury, Gainwell will likely start to get more of the work to lighten the load. Gainwell can be added now and started if Swift has to miss any time. If he doesn’t miss time, Gainwell can be stashed for the rest of the season. He is rostered in 14.1 percent of ESPN leagues.

4. Tyjae Spears, RB, Tennessee Titans

Derrick Henry has two straight weeks of two touchdowns scored, but he had to leave the game against the Colts in week 13. Spears had 16 rushes for 75 yards in his largest output of the season. He also added four catches for 13 yards.

Henry might not miss much time if at all, but Spears can be picked up either way. If Henry misses time, Spears can be played. On the flip side, he could be stashed as a handcuff down the stretch. Spears is rostered in 32 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Keaton Mitchell, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Mitchell has been slowly working his way into the running back rotation for the Ravens since his breakout performance in week 9. The Ravens are coming off of a bye in week 13, which could give them a chance to get Mitchell more involved.

The Ravens have proven to support more than one fantasy running back. More than one should be rostered and if Mitchell continues to get work, he can be started with a little more faith. He is rostered in just 31 percent of ESPN leagues.
