Fantasy Football Players to Add Week 14

Publish Date: December 5, 2022

Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 14. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)

1. Zonovan Knight, RB, New York Jets

With Breece Hall and Michael Carter hurt, Knight has stepped in to fill the void after being an undrafted free agent. Knight rushed the ball 15 times for 90 yards. He also had five catches for 28 yards in the week 13 game against the Vikings.

Carter was listed as doubtful on the injury report this week and could miss more time moving forward. Knight has earned more opportunities in the offense either way, as he is averaging 5.5 yards per carry to Carter’s 3.7. Knight is rostered in just 39 percent of ESPN leagues.

2. Travis Homer, RB, Seattle Seahawks

In week 13, Kenneth Walker had to leave the game with an ankle injury. Head coach Pete Carroll said he is unsure of the severity of the injury. Homer got some work with two carries for eight yards and two receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown in place of Walker.

DeeJay Dallas will also get some work if Walker misses time, but Homer provides more of an all-round back for the Seahawks to utilize. Homer should be picked up and held until more clarity on the running back situation is known. He is rostered in 0.2 percent of ESPN leagues.

3. James Cook, RB, Buffalo Bills

The Bills have been reluctant to fully utilize James Cook, but he had the best game of his career against the Patriots. He rushed the ball 14 times for 64 yards in the game. Cook also caught six passes for 41 yards, showing his versatility.

Sometimes it takes rookies a little while to break into the offense and it seems like that is what happened here. Cook can be picked up and the usage of running backs can be watched over the next several weeks. He is currently rostered in 25.3 percent of ESPN leagues.

4. Odell Beckham Jr, WR, Free Agent

Odell Beckham Jr. still needs a new team after tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl for the Rams last season. He has been taking meetings with teams and intends to sign with a team soon. The teams are reportedly the Giants, the Bills and the Cowboys.

No matter who he signs with Beckham will see some targets if he is healthy. It is a risk to pick him up, as he may not be ready for a large amount of work so soon. He is currently rostered in 33.3 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Darius Slayton, WR, New York Giants

The Giants continue to have injury issues at wide receiver, but Slayton has really stepped up for them. Since week seven, Slayton has been a big part of the offense. In week 13, he had six receptions for 90 yards on eight targets.

Slayton is another player worth picking up and stashing. He can be started in a pinch because of his productivity, but the Giants will have to throw to him even more before he can be fully trusted. Slayton is rostered in 33.4 percent of ESPN leagues.
