Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 12. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are rostered in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
Over the last few weeks, Rodriguez has been getting more run in the Commanders’ offense. He had 12 carries in week 9, then six in week 10 and now 15 in week 11. He finished the game this week against the Dolphins with 79 rushing yards and also had one catch for six yards.
Rodriguez gets the carries when the Commanders are able to run the ball. When they go down early, like they did against the Lions, his productivity could be limited. If the Commanders are projected to be in the game, Rodriguez could be started based on the matchup. Rodriguez is currently rostered in 6.7 percent of ESPN leagues.
Josh Jacobs was banged up in the Packers’ week 11 game against the Giants. Wilson stepped in and played in his place. He finished the game with 11 carries for 40 yards and one touchdown. He also had one catch for nine yards.
After the game, Matt LaFleur mentioned that Jacobs is not expected to miss the rest of the season. He still could miss some time and if that is the case, Wilson should be added. Depending on the matchups and roster situation, Wilson can be started in place of Jacobs. He is currently rostered in 5.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
Tucker has received some playing time over the last several weeks. In week 8, he had 42 rushing yards and a touchdown. Then in week 10 he had nine carries for 53 yards. This week against the Bills, Tukcer had 19 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two catches for 34 yards and a touchdown.
The Buccaneers have had injury issues and Tucker has taken advantage. While Bucky Irving looks like he was close to returning this week, as he was a limited participant in practice, Tucker’s performance should earn him some more run in the backfield, even when Irving returns. Tucker should be added, but Irving’s status needs to be monitored before he is started. He is rostered in 28.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
Jaylen Warren injured his ankle in week 11 against the Bengals. Kenneth Gainwell earned a lot of the work down the stretch for the Steelers and produced. He finished the game with nine carries for 24 yards, but he had more of an impact as a pass catcher. Gainwell had seven catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
Mike Tomlin said that there is a decent chance Warren plays in week 12. Gainwell can still be added just in case Warren can’t go. There is a chance rookie Kaleb Johnson starts to get more work as well, but Gainwell is clearly a favorite target of Aaron Rodgers in the passing game. He is rostered in 42.2 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Cardinals have plenty of injury issues at wide receiver. Marvin Harrison Jr. is missing some time, while Zay Jones is out for the season. Trey McBride is still there at tight end, but Wilson was needed to step up and he did. He finished week 11 against the 49ers with 15 catches for 185 yards on 18 targets.
Wilson will likely get a lot of work down the stretch with the injuries and the fact that the Cardinals will likely be losing a lot of games and need to throw to stay in it. He is worth the roster spot and can be started in a pinch if needed. Wilson is currently rostered in 15.2 percent of ESPN leagues.
