Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 10. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are rostered in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
Spears isn’t having the greatest games, but he is getting more work as the season goes on. In week 9, he finished the game with seven carries for 26 yards. He also added three catches for 36 yards as the main receiving threat out of the Titans’ backfield.
Adding Spears is more about what is coming up rather than what has happened. The NFL Trade Deadline is this week and Tony Pollard is a player who could be on the move. If he is moved, Spears will take over a lot of work. Even if Pollard isn’t traded, Spears is rosterable, albeit not startable in smaller leagues. He is rostered in 43.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
With Braelon Allen on IR, Davis has had more opportunities in the Jets’ offense. His role has increased and week 8 proved to be his most successful game of the season. He finished the game with seven carries for 65 yards against the Bengals. He also had five catches for 44 yards before the team’s week 9 bye.
Another player that has been in trade rumors is Breece Hall. It wouldn’t make much sense for the Jets to retain Hall, who is in the last year of his contract with the team. Davis can be added now and if Hall is traded, he can be a key asset for a fantasy team down the stretch. He is rostered in 9.1 percent of ESPN leagues.
Pierce has had a great season with the revamped Colts’ offense, ranking 41st in standard leagues at 7.2 points per game. He has yet to reach the end zone yet, but it is only a matter of time before that changes, as he is a good deep threat. In week 9, Pierce had six catches for 115 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Both Pierce and Michael Pittman have played well this season for the Colts. Pierce ranking so highly without a touchdown is a good sign and he could score more points when he does reach the end zone. He should be rostered and can be started in certain situations down the stretch. Pierce is rostered in just 11.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
With Travis Hunter on IR, the Jaguars were looking for other wide receivers to step up to help the passing attack. In week 9, Washington was a big factor in the offense. He finished the game with eight catches for 90 yards on nine targets against the Raiders.
Hunter is set to miss more time in the coming weeks, so there is a path for Washington to be successful for the next several weeks. He has played well when given the opportunity this season and should continue to do so. Washington can be added and started if a team is desperate enough. He is rostered in 5.1 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Seahawks had some injuries to receivers before Sunday Night Football. While Jaxson Smith-Njigba was healthy, they needed other players to step up and Tory Horton did just that. He finished the game against the Commanders with four catches for 48 yards and two touchdowns.
Horton will likely see more playing time as the season goes on because he has played well when given the opportunity. He will have to fight for targets behind JSN, but Horton is capable of improving down the stretch. Horton can be added and his progress can be tracked before starting him. Horton is rostered in 7.3 percent of ESPN leagues.
