Fantasy Football Defenses to Stream Week 6

Publish Date: October 12, 2026

One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week, owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream in Week 6. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 55 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats are from before Monday Night Football)

1. New England Patriots

The Patriots have a great fantasy defense, ranking fifth in the league at 7.6 points per game. They registered one double-digit game, which was a 20-point outing against the Steelers in Week 2. They have no negative-scoring games, with their lowest output being a zero-point game against the Jaguars.

In Week 6, the Patriots play the New York Jets. The Jets score just 18.6 points per game, which is near the bottom of the league. With the Patriots having a good defense and the Jets not being consistent offensively, New England should be able to have a good game. They are rostered in 50.6 percent of ESPN leagues.

2. Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis has had a bad fantasy defense this season, ranking 31st in the NFL at 0.4 points per game. They have no double-digit scoring games this year. The Colts have scored negative points three times this year. Those games were against the Ravens, Chiefs and Steelers.

This week, the Colts play the Tennessee Titans. Tennessee scores just 11.6 points per game, making them the worst offense in the league. While the Colts aren’t great, most of their bad performances are against quality competition. They can take advantage of the matchup and have a good game. The Colts are rostered in just 2.8 percent of ESPN leagues.

3. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have a subpar fantasy defense this season, scoring 5.8 points per game and ranking 21st in the league. They have one double-digit scoring game, which was Week 1 against the Broncos. Kansas City has not registered a negative-scoring game yet this season.

In Week 6, the Chiefs are coming off a bye to play the Los Angeles Chargers. While the Chargers have talent, they score just 16.8 points per game, ranking 30th in the NFL. The Chiefs should be able to run the ball, control the clock and play solid defense given the matchup, allowing them to have a nice fantasy performance. They are currently rostered in 33.5 percent of ESPN leagues.

4. Chicago Bears

Chicago has an average fantasy defense this season, ranking 15th at 6.0 points per game. They have one double-digit scoring game, which was in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Their lone negative-scoring game was in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers.

This week, the Bears matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. While the Falcons do score 23.8 points per game, starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was injured late on Sunday Night Football and he could miss time. The Falcons have struggled with backup quarterbacks playing this season. Chicago should be able to rebound if Penix is out, so watch the injury report. The Bears are rostered in 32.6 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay has a solid fantasy defense this season, ranking 11th at 6.4 points per game. They have no double-digit scoring games, but also have no negative-scoring games. Their season low was against the Browns (four points) and the season high was against the Bengals (eight points).

In Week 6, the Buccaneers play the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have an average offense, scoring 22.2 points per game. They are banged up at the receiver position and could start seeing some issues because of it. Tampa Bay has played solidly against better offense so they could be trusted against the Steelers. The Bucs are rostered in 15 percent of ESPN leagues.
