Fantasy Football Defenses to Stream Week 6

One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 6.

(Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)

1. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams have a solid fantasy defense ranking 13th at 6.4 points per game. They have one double-digit scoring game, which was a 12-point performance against the Houston Texans in week 1. Their one negative scoring point game was against the San Francisco 49ers in week 5. 

This week, the Rams play the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens looked completely outmatched against the Texans in week 5 without Lamar Jackson. Most of the Ravens’ production came in garbage time. Check the injury report this week and if Jackson is unable to play in week 6, the Rams should be picked up and started. They are rostered in 49.1 percent of ESPN leagues. 

2. Green Bay Packers

Green Bay has had a below-average fantasy defense this season, ranking 23rd at 5.3 points per game. They have one double-digit scoring outing, which was week 1 against the Lions. Their only negative scoring output was against the Cowboys in week 4. 

The Packers are coming off a bye to play the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati has scored just 37 points in the three games since Joe Burrow was injured. Jake Browning is struggling with interceptions, as he has thrown eight already. With a week of rest, the Packers can take advantage of the Bengals’ quarterback injury. They are rostered in 45.9 percent of ESPN leagues. 

3. New England Patriots

New England has played great as a fantasy defense this season, ranking seventh in the league at 7.4 points per game. They have two double-digit scoring performances, which came against the Dolphins and Panthers. The Pats have no negative scoring games so far this year. 

This week, the Packers are playing the Saints. New Orleans notched their first win of the season against the New York Giants in week 5. The Saints score just 18.4 points per game and although they just won, they probably don’t have the firepower to put up a lot against the Patriots. New England is rostered in 41.7 percent of ESPN leagues. 

4. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys have not played good defense this season, ranking 31st as a fantasy defense at 0.0 points per game. They have no double-digit performances and three negative scoring outings. Those bad games were against the Giants, Bears and Packers.

In week 6, the Cowboys play the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have been inconsistent offensively this season, looking great some weeks and lost others. They score 20.4 points per game, but may do a little better against the Cowboys. Dallas is coming off a solid game against the Jets, but should only be started in extreme desperation. They are rostered in 4.1 percent of ESPN leagues. 

5. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders have been bad defensively as well, ranking 27th at 2.4 points per game. They have no double-digit scoring games yet this season. The Raiders have had two negative socring outings, which were against the Commanders and Colts. 

This week, the Raiders play the Tennessee Titans. The Titans got their first win against the Arizona Cardinals, but the offense didn’t look pretty early, which is how they’ve looked for most of the year. They score just 14.6 points per game this season, one of the lowest marks in the league. The Raiders should only be started in a worst-case scenario and are rostered in one percent of ESPN leagues.
