Fantasy Football Defenses to Stream Week 2

Publish Date: September 14, 2026

One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week, owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream in Week 2. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats are from before Monday Night Football)

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay scored eight points in Week 1 against the Bengals. They had one sack, one interception and one touchdown, allowing 27 points along the way. Although the Bucs allowed some points, it was against good competition.

In Week 2, the Buccaneers play the Cleveland Browns. The Browns scored just 10 points in Week 1 against the Jaguars, with them coming when the game was already at hand. With the Bucs going up against an easier offense, they should have a good game. They are rostered in 12.8 percent of ESPN leagues.

2. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers scored nine points in their season-opening win against the Rams. They had one interception and one fumble recovery, while giving up just seven points. It was an international game, but shutting down the Rams’ offense is no easy task.

This week, the 49ers play the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins scored just 13 points in their first game, which was against the Las Vegas Raiders, who aren’t expected to have a great defense. While they are coming back from Australia, the 49ers had extra time to prepare for this game and should be able to limit the Dolphins. The 49ers are rostered in 7.3 percent of ESPN leagues.

3. Carolina Panthers

Carolina had a terrible game in Week 1, as they gave up 59 points to the Chicago Bears. They ended up losing eight points as a fantasy defense. The Panthers did register one fumble recovery and two sacks, but it was not a good performance.

Week 1 can get weird in the NFL and the Panthers should be able to bounce back against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons scored just 13 points against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1. Michael Penix Jr. couldn’t play because of an injury and Tua Tagovailoa was also held out of the game. The Falcons played Cooper Rush, who couldn’t sustain a lot of long drives. Carolina can have a much better performance in week 2. They are rostered in just one percent of ESPN leagues.

4. Green Bay Packers

The Packers scored four fantasy points against the Minnesota Vikings in their opener. They had one interception and three sacks against the Vikings. They did allow 39 points, but were able to make some plays to score some points.

In Week 2, the Packers play the New York Jets. The Jets did score 23 points in Week 1, but it was against a Titans team that really struggled. Green Bay can have a better game in this one, even with Micah Parsons still being out. They are rostered in 16.3 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City still hasn’t played their game against Denver on Monday Night Football. They lost some players this offseason, but drafted Mansoor Delane and Peter Woods to help the defense. Even if they have a bad Week 1, the Chiefs could be considered an add for Week 2.

In Week 2, the Chiefs are up against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts scored 23 points against the Ravens, but did struggle early to score and they had to score some late. The Chiefs can focus on slowing down Jonathan Taylor and have a solid game. They are rostered in 35 percent of ESPN leagues.
