Fantasy Football Defenses to Stream Week 18

One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 18. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)

1. Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs have a subpar fantasy defense, ranking 21st at 4.8 points per game. They have three double-digit scoring performances this season, which were against the Giants, Raiders and Commanders. Two of their games have resulted in negative-scoring games: vs. Dallas and Buffalo. 

This week, the Chiefs are matching up with the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders score a league-low 14.2 points per game. Kansas City already had a successful games against the Raiders and Las Vegas has scored more than 20 points just once in the last eight games. The Chiefs are rostered in 30.6 percent of ESPN leagues. 

2. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings have a quality fantasy defense, ranking sixth in the league at 7.5 points per game. They have amassed four double-digit scoring performances, which were against the Bengals, Commanders, Giants and Lions. Their two negative scoring games were against the Chargers and Cowboys. 

In week 18, the Vikings play the Packers. While the Packers have a solid offense, they are banged up and have nothing to play for, as they have locked up the seventh seed. Minnesota can have a big game against backups. They are rostered in 43.2 percent of ESPN leagues. 

3. Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati has a bad fantasy defense this season, as they rank 31st at 2.2 points per game. Their one double-digit scoring game was against the Baltimore Ravens. They have four negative scoring games, which were against the Vikings, Lions, Jets and Bears. 

For their final game, the Bengals play the Cleveland Browns. The Browns rank 31st in the league at 16.2 points per game. Since Joe Burrow came back at quarterback for the Bengals, their defense has played better and they haven’t had a negative-scoring game during that time. The Bengals are rostered in 2.9 percent of ESPN leagues. 

4. New Orleans Saints

New Orleans has a solid fantasy defense, scoring 7.2 points per game and ranking ninth in the league. They have five double-digit scoring games this season, which were against the Giants, Panthers, Falcons, Jets and Titans. Their two negative-scoring seasons were against the Seahawks and the Rams. 

In week 18, the Saints play the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons score 20.5 points per game, ranking in the bottom half of the league. They will also be coming off a short week after playing the Rams on Monday Night Football. New Orleans is rostered in 47.9 percent of ESPN leagues. 

5. Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore has a below-average fantasy defense this season, ranking 21st at 4.6 points per game. The Ravens have scored double-digit points in five games this season: vs. Browns (twice), Dolphins, Jets and Bengals. They had four negative-scoring games this season, which were against the Bills, Lions, Chiefs and Texans. 

The Ravens have a must-win game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in week 18. Pittsburgh has an average offense, but they had a rough game against the Browns in week 17. If the Ravens keep the ball on the ground and control the clock, their defense can have a solid day. They are rostered in 45.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
