One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 15. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)
1. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts have had a good fantasy defense, ranking seventh at 8.2 points per game. They have five double-digit scoring games, which came against the Jaguars, Panthers, Patriots, Buccaneers and Titans. Indianapolis has two negative-scoring outings: vs. the Saints and vs. the Rams.
In week 15, the Colts play the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers average 16.2 points per game, which ranks 27th in the league. Starting quarterback Kenny Pickett is out with an ankle injury and Mitch Trubisky is in the starting lineup. The Colts can take advantage and have a big game. They are rostered in just 29.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have had a below-average fantasy season defensively, averaging 5.6 points per game and ranking 20th in the league. They have scored double-digit points in four different games this season, which were against the Raiders, Bears, Jets and Patriots. Los Angeles has three negative-scoring games: vs. the Dolphins, vs. the Chiefs and the Lions.
This week the Chargers will play the Las Vegas Raiders. Las Vegas is averaging 15.5 points per game, ranking them 28th in the league. They score no points against the Vikings in week 14. Starting running back Josh Jacobs left their week 14 games with an injury, which will make things tougher for their offense. The Chargers can get a good game going this week. They are rostered in 22.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati has had a bad fantasy season on defense, scoring 5.8 points per game and ranking 25th in the league. Their four double-digit scoring games were against the Rams, Cardinals, Seahawks and Colts. They have one negative scoring game, which was against the Ravens.
The week 15 matchup for the Bengals is with the Vikings. Minnesota scores 20.5 points per game, but they have struggled to score recently, with just three points against the Raiders in week 14. The Bengals had a good game against the Colts and can keep that momentum going in week 15. They are rostered in 13.3 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas has had a below-average fantasy season, ranking 22nd at 6.0 points per game. The Raiders have scored double-digit points in games against the Packers, Patriots, Lions, Giants and Vikings. They have two negative-scoring games, which were against the Bills and Chiefs.
In week 15, the Raiders are playing the Chargers. Los Angeles scores 21.7 points per game, which ranks in the middle of the league. They will likely be without starting quarterback Justin Herbert though, after he broke a finger. Las Vegas can keep the game low-scoring. They are rostered in 13.1 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Los Angeles Rams
The Rams have had a bad defense this season, ranking 30th in fantasy scoring with 4.0 points per game. They have had no double-digit scoring games this season. Los Angeles has two negative-scoring games, which were against the Eagles and the 49ers.
In week 15, the Rams are up against the Washington Commanders. They score 20.1 points per game, which ranks in the bottom half in the league. The Commanders are coming off a bye, but may be without running back Brian Robinson who left week 13 with an injury. The Rams should only be started in desperation. They are rostered in 14.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
