One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream in week 15. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)
The Cardinals have a decent fantasy defense at 5.7 points per game, which ranks them 15th. They have three games where they scored double-digit points: at Carolina, at Seattle and vs. New Orleans. Arizona has two games in which they scored negative points, which were against the Chiefs and the 49ers.
While the Cardinals still play on Monday Night Football for week 14, they will match up with the Broncos in week 15. The Broncos are averaging 14.9 points per game. To make things even more challenging, Russell Wilson left the game in week 14 with a concussion. Arizona may be able to make things tough no matter who ends up starting. The Cardinals are available in over 65 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Packers have a below-average fantasy defense this season, ranking 21st at 4.5 points per game. They two double-digit scoring performances, which came against the Bears and Packers. Their lone negative-scoring performance was against the Eagles.
In week 15, the Packers play the Rams, who rank 31st against opposing defenses. They will have Baker Mayfield at quarterback, who led the team to a comeback win, but still has a long way to go in terms of learning the playbook and showing he can burn a defense. The Packers are rostered in 37.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Panthers have a good fantasy defense that ranks 10th at 6.2 points per game. They scored double-digit points in games against the Saints, Falcons and Broncos. Carolina scored negative points against the Bengals.
The week 15 matchup for the Panthers is against the Steelers. Pittsburgh scores 17.5 points per game. Kenny Pickett left their week 14 game with a concussion. He has been showing some progress this season, so if he misses time it will make things tougher for the offense. The Panthers are rostered in 7.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
Cincinnati has been an average fantasy defense, ranking 18th at 4.8 points per game. They have one double-digit outing, which was against the Jets. The Bengals have no negative-scoring games on the season.
This week, the Bengals play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay has really struggled offensively this season and they are coming off of a blowout to the 49ers. Cincinnati will be down their top corner and top pass rusher, but the unit has been performing pretty well as a whole. They are rostered in 35.4 percent of ESPN leagues.
New Orleans scores 4.8 points per game and ranks as the 19th-ranked fantasy defense. They scored 14 points against the Raiders for their only double-digit scoring performance of the year. The Saints have not had a negative-scoring performance this year.
In week 15, the Saints play the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta scores 22.2 points per game, which is below average, and they will be starting Desmond Ridder for the first time in his career. New Orleans can post a solid performance and are only rostered in 40.7 percent of ESPN leagues.
