One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 14. (Note: All defense mentioned are rostered in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
*All stats and rankings from before Monday Night Football
1. New Orleans Saints
The Saints have had an above-average fantasy defense this season, ranking 12th in the league at 6.3 points per game. They have four double-digit performances on the season, but also have one negative scoring performance. New Orleans has struggled to put up points defensively since Trevor Siemian took over, but now Taysom Hill is under center, which should help them control the game more.
In week 14, the Saints play the Jets. The Jets score just 18.1 points per game and their turnover problems have been well documented. Zach Wilson is back under center after returning from injury and already has thrown 11 interceptions in eight games. The Saints are available in just over 50 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Denver Broncos
Denver has had a great defense this season that ranks seventh in the league at 7.3 points per game. They have four double-digit scoring performances on the season and one negative scoring performance. The Broncos have had some good games against good offenses so when they play bad offenses, they are expected to have a big day.
That is the case this week for the Broncos, who play the Lions. Detroit scores just 16.9 points per game. On top of that, their receiving core lacks talent and running back D’Andre Swift may not play in this game with an injury. The Broncos should be able to limit the Lions and play well. They are currently rostered in just 43.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. Tennessee Titans
The Titans have an average fantasy defense this season, ranking 18th and averaging 5.2 points per game. They have three double-digit scoring games and two negative scoring games. Their three double-digit scoring outings happened over three straight weeks and they’ll look to recapture that after their bye.
After a refreshing bye, the Titans play the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars score 15 points per game, ranking 31st in the league. It has been hard for Trevor Lawrence, who has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns this season. After preparing for two weeks, the Titans defenses should have a huge day. They are rostered in just under 25 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles has had a below-average fantasy season on defense, scoring 4.1 points per game and ranking 23rd in the league. They have one double-digit scoring game and one negative scoring performance on the year. Their best game of the season came in week 13 against the Bengals, when they tallied 19 points scored.
The Chargers forced four turnovers and scored one touchdown against the Bengals and will look to keep that momentum going against the New York Giants. The Giants have been a mess on offense, scoring 17.6 points per game and they have already changed offensive coordinators this season. The Chargers are rostered in just 7.2 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Seattle Seahawks
Seattle has not had a good fantasy defense this year, as they score 3.1 points per game and rank 28th. They have four negative scoring performances and one double-digit scoring game on the year. Three of their negative scoring results happened in the first five weeks of the season, so the defense has marginally improved.
In week 14, the Seahawks play the Texans. Houston scores 13.7 points per game, which is the lowest mark in the league. The Texans are also going to be without Tyrod Taylor who tore ligaments in his hand in week 13. Seattle could take advantage of the situation, despite not having the best defense this season. They are owned in 6.3 percent of ESPN leagues.
