One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 13. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)
The Jaguars have had a solid fantasy defense this season, ranking 13th at 7.1 points per game. They have four double-digit scoring games, which were against the Colts twice, the Falcons and the Steelers. Their two negative-scoring games were against the Texans and 49ers.
In week 13, the Jaguars will play the Bengals on Monday Night Football. Cincinnati scored just 10 points without Joe Burrow against the Steelers following his injury. They failed to run the ball well and the passing game was not great. The Jaguars can take advantage and have a huge game. They are rostered in 26.2 percent of ESPN leagues.
Atlanta has had an average fantasy defense, ranking 22nd at 5.5 points per game. In games against the Panthers and Buccaneers, they were able to total double-digit points. They have no negative scoring performances on the year.
They will play the New York Jets in week 13. Tim Boyle is starting for the Jets and he had a rough debut as a starter against the Dolphins. They likely will not be able to move the football a lot against the Falcons. Atlanta is rostered in 16.4 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Rams have had a bad defensive year for fantasy, as they score 4.2 points per game and rank 31st. They have not scored double-digit points in a game all season long, with their biggest output being nine points against the Cardinals. Their two negative scoring games came against the 49ers and the Eagles.
This week the Rams will take on the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland is without starting quarterback Deshaun Watson and have scored just 25 total points over their last two games. They are fueled by their defense and don’t pose much of a threat. The Rams can have a solid outing and are rostered in four percent of ESPN leagues.
The Chargers have been subpar defensively, ranking 26th at 5.0 points per game. They have three double-digit scoring performances, with their best outing being a 26-point game against the Jets. Los Angeles has three negative scoring games, which were against the Dolphins, Chiefs and Lions.
In week 13, the Chargers will play the New England Patriots. The Patriots score just 13.5 points per game and have scored a total of 13 points in their last two games. They also have quarterback issues, as Mac Jones has been benched in each of the last two games. The Chargers can have a big game and are rostered in just 11.1 percent of ESPN leagues.
Tampa Bay has had a solid season for defense at 5.5 points per game, which ranks 20th in the league. They have three double-digit scoring games: against the Bears, Saints and Titans. The Bucs have one negative-scoring game which was to the Texans.
This week the Buccaneers are taking on the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have just fired head coach Frank Reich. They score just 15.9 points per game and have had offensive line issues. It is hard to see them having a good offensive output in this game. The Buccaneers are available in over 85 percent of ESPN leagues.
