Fantasy Football Defenses to Stream Week 12

Publish Date: November 20, 2023

One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 12. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)

1. New England Patriots

The Patriots have not had a good season defensively, ranking 29th at 4.7 points per game. They have registered one double-digit scoring performance this season, which came against the Jets. New England also has no negative-scoring games, giving them some security.

In week 12, the Patriots are playing the New York Giants. New England is coming off a bye week and have had time to prep for Tommy DeVito, who has had some good and bad games since stepping into the lineup. New England can take advantage and have a solid performance. They are rostered in 28.9 percent of ESPN leagues.

2. Denver Broncos

Denver is on a hot streak as a team with their defense coming along. They are 26th in the league at 5.0 points per game. The Broncos have registered one double-digit scoring game this season, ironically against the Chiefs. They have one negative-scoring performance, which was to the Dolphins.

This week, the Broncos are taking on the Cleveland Browns. The Browns score 22.7 points per game, but have turned the offense over to Dorian Thompson-Robinson with Deshaun Watson being out injured. The Browns scored just 13 points in week 11 with DTR at quarterback. The Broncos are hot and can keep that streak going. They are rostered in 4.4 percent of ESPN leagues.

3. Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati has had a decent fantasy defense, ranking 17th at 5.9 points per game. They have three games under their belts where they scored double-digit points: vs. the Rams, at the Cardinals and vs. the Seahawks. The Bengals have one negative-scoring game, which was this past week to the Ravens.

The week 12 matchup for the Bengals is with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh is scoring just 16.6 points per game. Kenny Pickett is struggling to move the offense and their highest point total all season is 26 points. With the Bengals being without Joe Burrow, they will want to keep the ball on the ground and make it a low-scoring game, which will help their defense. They are rostered in 14.7 percent of ESPN leagues.

4. New York Giants

The Giants have a below-average fantasy defense at 4.7 points per game, ranking them 24th. They have three double-digit outings, which were against the Commanders twice and the Jets. On the other hand, they do have four negative-scoring games as well.

New York will play the Patriots in week 12. The Patriots score just 14.1 points per game. While that isn’t great, they are coming off a bye, which prevents the Giants from ranking higher on this list. New York can still play well and force some turnovers. They are available in nearly 85 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Tennessee Titans

Tennessee has had a rough season defensively, ranking 30th at 4.1 points per game. Their one double-digit scoring game was against Cincinnati. They have one negative-scoring matchup, which was this past week to the Jaguars.

This week the Titans play the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers score just 16.3 points per game. They have had trouble protecting rookie quarterback Bryce Young, which has led to mistakes. The Titans can have one of their better games of the season in week 12. They are rostered in just 4.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
