One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 11. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)
Houston has had a good defense for fantasy this season, ranking sixth at 7.7 points per game. They have four double-digit scoring games, which were against the Bears, Patriots, Packers and Lions. The Texans have no negative-scoring games this year.
This week, the Texans match up with the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys scored just six points against the Eagles in week 10. It was their first game without starting quarterback Dak Prescott, who is out for the season. Houston can have a big day with the circumstances. They are rostered in 44.6 percent of ESPN leagues.
Miami hasn’t had a good fantasy defense this season, ranking 28th at 4.1 points per game. They have no double-digit scoring games with their highest output being eight points against the Jaguars in week 8. The Dolphins have scored negative points one time, which was against the Arizona Cardinals.
The week 11 matchup for the Dolphins is with the Raiders. While the Dolphins will be on a short week, the Raiders are scoring just 18.7 points per game this season. Miami should be able to force turnovers and produce a lot of points. They are rostered in 25.3 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Saints have a decent fantasy defense, which ranks 21st at 4.6 points per game. They have one double-digit scoring game which was in week 1 against the Carolina Panthers. New Orleans has one negative-scoring game, which was to the Chiefs.
In week 11, the Saints play the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are scoring 16.9 points per game which ranks near the bottom of the league. New Orleans has been better defensively at home this season which helps them in this game. They are rostered in 38.4 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Rams have had an average fantasy defense, ranking 15th at 6.9 points per game. They have three double-digit scoring games this year, which were against the Packers, Raiders and Seahawks. Los Angeles has one negative scoring game, coming against the Cardinals in week 5.
This week the Rams are playing the New England Patriots. The Rams will be on a short week after playing on Monday Night Football, but the Patriots are averaging just 16 points per game. With the Patriots having a questionable offensive line, the Rams could get some pressure on Drake Maye to register some sacks and possibly force turnovers. The Rams are rostered in 7.2 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Browns have an average fantasy defense this season, ranking 15th at 6.1 points per game. They had one double-digit scoring game, which was against the Raiders. Cleveland has no negative scoring games yet this season.
In week 11, the Browns play the New Orleans Saints. The Saints average 22.7 points per game, which ranks in the middle of the pack. They have had some injuries to wide receivers, which can limit how effective their offense can be. Cleveand’s defense could step up in this one and they are rostered in 37.9 percent of ESPN leagues.
