One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream week 10. (Note: All defenses mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Stats from before Monday Night Football)
The Colts have a solid fantasy defense that ranks 14th and scores 6.4 points per game. They have two double-digit performances, with their best coming last week against the Panthers when they tallied 27. The Colts scored negative points twice this season. Their game against the Panthers really helped their rankings, as they had four sacks and two touchdowns.
This week the Colts play the Patriots. New England ranks near the bottom of the league, averaging 15 points per game. Indianapolis is on a hot streak and can get another good performance against a bad offense. They are rostered in just 10.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Patriots have had a below-average fantasy season defensively, scoring 4.4 points per game. They had a season-best performance against the Jets, when they tallied 11 points. Their worst performance was against the Saints when they scored just one point. They have racked up 18 sacks on the season.
In week 10, the Patriots take on the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are coming off a game where they scored 27 points against the Panthers. Two of their touchdowns came from their defense. The Patriots can have a good performance by keeping the score low. They are rostered in just 48.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
Cincinnati has had a solid fantasy defense that ranks 11th at 7.5 points per game. They have three double-digit scoring performances this season. On the flip side, the Bengals have a season-low of two points, which came against the Titans. They have 11 interceptions on the season.
In week 10, the Bengals host the Texans. Houston scores a solid 23.4 points per game, but they are far from consistent. In week 9 they scored 39 points, while in week 8 they totaled just 13. With Cincinnati playing well lately, they can have a solid performance against the Texans. Cincinnati is available in nearly 85 percent of ESPN leagues.
Carolina has a below-average fantasy defense, as they are ranked 23rd at 5.1 points per game. They had one double-digit game, when they scored 15 against Minnesota. The Panthers have two games with negative points, which were against the Lions and Seahawks. They have 17 sacks on the season.
In week 10, the Panthers will be playing the Chicago Bears. The Bears score 20.9 points per game. They could be without Justin Fields again this week, as he has a thumb injury. Even if he plays, he likely won’t be 100 percent. The Panthers can have a solid performance. They are rostered in 7.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
The Bears rank 31st for fantasy defenses at 3.7 points per game. They have two double-digit scoring games, which were against the Vikings and the Raiders. Chicago has two negative-scoring performances, which were against the Buccaneers and Chiefs. They are a streaky defense, but do have six interceptions on the season.
In week 10, the Bears play the Panthers. It figures to be a low-scoring game, as the Panthers average just 17.5 points per game. Bryce Young threw three interceptions last week, so the Bears may be able to force some turnovers. Chicago is rostered in just 1.5 percent of ESPN leagues.
