One of the biggest strategies in fantasy football is streaming defenses. Each week owners will look at matchups and make waiver wire acquisitions almost every week to find their starting defense. Here are fantasy football defenses to stream in week 7. (Note: All defense mentioned are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
Surprisingly, the Packers have the 11th-ranked fantasy defense this season. They had some bad performances against Philadelphia and Dallas, but otherwise, have been solid. Preston and Za’Darius Smith have been getting after quarterbacks and the secondary has played well.
This week, the Packers play the Raiders, who have had a solid offense. If the Smiths can get pressure on Derek Carr, they should be in for a big day. Their defense is owned in just 37.6 percent of ESPN leagues.

The Chiefs are not a great defense. They rank 26th as a fantasy defense this season and they likely need to add a player on the defensive side of the ball if they are to truly compete for a title. Kansas City has had two good fantasy performances on defense this season against the Raiders and the Lions.
Their defense has a favorable matchup this week though, as they play the Denver Broncos. The most points Denver has scored in a game is 24. If the Chiefs can force a few turnovers, they can reach double-digit points. They are owned in just 15.1 percent of ESPN leagues.
Arizona’s defense ranks 30th in fantasy points. Their best game came when they scored four points against Seattle. The good news for Arizona is that they still have Chandler Jones, one of the game’s best pass rushers. They also have Patrick Peterson returning from his suspension for PEDs, which should make them better.
The Cardinals will travel to play the Giants this week, who are the 28th ranked team against fantasy defenses. Saquon Barkley may play, but they should be able to stack the box and limit him. They are available in over 90 percent of ESPN leagues.

Seattle has one of the best defenses on this list. They are the 15th-ranked fantasy defense this season. For the most part, they have played well, but they did have a -2 point performance against the Rams in week 5. If their offense can control the clock it will limit opportunities for the Baltimore Ravens this week.
The reason they aren’t ranked as high as other defenses on this list is their matchup. Baltimore and Lamar Jackson have scored 30.7 points per game this season. They can run the ball well and are decent at passing the ball as well. The defense can be picked up and played, but it is dangerous given how good the Ravens are on offense. The Seahawks defense is owned in just 34.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
Matt Patricia has not quite improved the defense enough to his liking yet this season. The Lions are the 20th ranked fantasy defense this season. Their season-high for points came against the Eagles in week 3 when they scored 12 fantasy points. A two-point performance against the Chiefs was their worst performance of the season.
This week, the Lions play the Vikings. Minnesota got their offense back on track against the Giants, but the Lions have a much better defense than them. Kirk Cousins is inconsistent and very well could have one of his bad games just a week after playing well against New York. The defense is available in almost all ESPN leagues.
