Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are five players to add in fantasy football week 10. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)
1. Ronald Jones, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Head coach Bruce Arians said that Ronald Jones is now the starting running back for the Buccaneers. This comes after getting 18 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown. He also added two receptions for 15 yards. Moving forward he should be much more productive given that Arians is openly giving him the starting running back job.
There is still a chance Peyton Barber takes away carries, but Jones is still worth adding, even if he isn’t started this week. Jones is owned in 37.8 percent of ESPN leagues.
2. Kalen Ballage, RB, Miami Dolphins
Ballage is now poised to take over most of the work in the Dolphins’ backfield. Kenyan Drake was traded to the Cardinals, while Mark Walton is suspended for four games for PED use. He had seven carries for 19 yards against the Jets and will likely more than double his workload this week.
The Dolphins likely won’t produce much offense, but Ballage will get a lot of work. He is available in over 90 percent of ESPN leagues.
3. DeVante Parker, WR, Miami Dolphins
Parker has been on fire for the last few weeks with the Dolphins. He has 48 fantasy points in the last five games. This past week against the Jets, Parker hauled in four passes for 57 yards and a touchdown. He is the go-to target in the red zone with four touchdowns in the last five weeks.
The young receiver is touchdown-dependent for his value, as he doesn’t have more than 75 yards in a game this season. With Preston Williams out, Parker should see even more targets coming his way. He is available in over 75 percent of ESPN leagues.
4. A.J. Brown, WR, Tennessee Titans
Since Ryan Tannehill has been inserted as the starter, A.J. Brown has steadily improved. He has six, seven and then eight points in the last three weeks. Brown had shown flashes before this stretch with a 10-point performance in the season-opener and a 21-point performance against the Falcons in week 4. With his steady improvement, he is worth looking at this week.
Corey Davis and Brown both have had troubles producing consistently, so if Tannehill starts finding Davis, Brown’s production may suffer. He is still worth an add this week. Brown is owned in 15.1 percent of ESPN leagues.
5. Noah Fant, TE, Denver Broncos
Fant has had an up and down rookie season, but produced this week against the Browns. He finished the game with three catches for 115 yards and a touchdown. New quarterback Brandon Allen was able to find him in key situations and Fant produced.
The Broncos are heading into a bye, but it will be interesting to see if Allen and Fant can keep the good chemistry going past this one week. Fant is available in over 90 percent of ESPN leagues.
