2022 Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings

The 2022 NFL Draft is over, giving a clearer picture of rosters for the 2022 season. With that fantasy football rankings can be released. Here are the 2022 fantasy football quarterback rankings. (Note: These are best used for standard-scoring leagues and will be updated until the season starts)

1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

After finishing 2021 as the leading quarterback, Allen is a solid pick to do it again. He is the team’s best quarterback and runner. Gabriel Davis emerged as a legitimate weapon in the playoffs, while James Cook, O.J. Howard and Jamison Crowder have been added to give Allen more players to utilize.

2. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Mahomes finished fourth in scoring last season, but is always a safe bet to finish high. He will be without Tyreek Hill, but Mahomes will still have Travis Kelce. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Skyy Moore have also been added to the mix.

3. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens sustained so many injuries last season. Jackson still finished as QB15, despite only playing in 12 games. If he stays healthy, his rushing ability makes him a viable potential top-scoring quarterback this season. He’ll have to get used to new receivers, as Marquise Brown was traded away.

4. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

After finishing as QB8 last season, Burrow is looking forward to a huge 2022 season. The Bengals still have the same old weapons and new tight end, Hayden Hurst. What will elevate Burrow’s play in 2022 is the addition of key offensive linemen.

5. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

Herbert proved that his good rookie season was no fluke. He finished as QB2 in 2021 and it looks like he can have another great season. Keenan Allen and Mike Williams seem to have a good connection with Herbert. It will be tough in the AFC West, but Herbert has all the tools necessary for a great season.

6. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

In 14 games played, Murray ranked inside the top 10 last season. While DeAndre Hopkins will not be available for the first six games, they acquired Marquise Brown to help with that problem. Murray’s ability to scramble will also serve him well again.

7. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Losing Amari Cooper will hurt, but the Cowboys are hoping CeeDee Lamb will step up and rookie Jalen Tolbert will be productive. Prescott was the seventh-best fantasy quarterback in 2021 and can likely produce similarly in 2022.

8. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

How good of a real-life quarterback Hurts is may be up for debate, but he ranked ninth last season in fantasy. The Eagles acquired A.J. Brown to help out their receiving core, while Hurts being able to run also helps his fantasy value.

9. Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

After retiring, Brady decided to return to Tampa Bay. He still looks great, despite being older. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin return, although Rob Gronkowski‘s status is up in the air. Either way, Brady has all the capabilities for another top 10 season.

10. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

Don’t get it twisted, Rodgers is still one of the best quarterbacks in the game. He was QB6 last year, but will have to deal with the loss of Davante Adams. The Packers will have an adjustment period with plenty of younger faces at wide receiver.

11. Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos

Wilson has a new team, which will likely yield him better fantasy results. In 2021, he was QB16 in 14 games played. He will have Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy (pending legal issues), Tim Patrick and K.J. Hamler to throw to this season.

12. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

Winning a Super Bowl last year was the end to a great season where Stafford was the fifth-best fantasy quarterback. His winning was rewarded this offseason, when the Rams acquired Allen Robinson to replace Odell Beckham Jr. and Robert Woods. The Rams’ offense and Stafford could both be really good once again.

13. Trey Lance, San Francisco 49ers

Lance is set to take over for the 49ers and offers some upside as a runner. The downside is that he could still be pulled for Jimmy Garoppolo unless a trade is made.

14. Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders

This offseason, Carr was reunited with his college teammate Davante Adams. After he ranked 13th last season, Carr is a safe bet to finish in about the same range with Adams and Darren Waller helping him out.

15. Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

Cousins always seems to finish higher than projected and was QB11 in 2021. He will have the same cast of characters back, which should yield similar results.

16-20

16. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

In 13 games played, Tagovailoa only ranked as QB26. If he can stay healthy, he has a chance to do much better in 2022. The Dolphins beefed up the offensive line and acquired Tyreek Hill this offseason.

17. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Lawrence had a rough rookie season, but still ranked 22nd. With a new coaching staff in place, Lawrence may be able to reach more of his full potential.

18. Matt Ryan, Indianapolis Colts

While he will be in more of a run-first offense, Ryan could improve a little bit over last season. He ranked 20th, but he was also pressured a lot more in Atlanta than he likely will be in Indianapolis.

19. Justin Fields, Chicago Bears

Fields averaged 11.4 points per game in 2021, but is now being trusted with the offense. Unfortunately, he could rank higher on this list, but the Bears really haven’t given him much support.

20. Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints

In 2021, Winston was on a really good pace at 17.2 points per game. He’s back and so too is Michael Thomas, who didn’t play at all last season. Winston may not have the offense operating like prime Drew Brees did, but they can be average.

21-26

21. Mac Jones, New England Patriots

After a good rookie season, Jones is set to play similarly in 2022. DeVante Parker was added, but how much-added value he gives Jones isn’t really apparent. He was QB20 last season and could finish similarly in 2022.

22. Baker Mayfield, Carolina Panthers

Baker Mayfield got a trade out of Cleveland and has been named a starter for the Panthers. He can put up some solid numbers, but shouldn’t be trusted on a weekly basis.

23. Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans

Tannehill was able to finish as QB12 last season, but things have changed. The Titans traded A.J. Brown and drafted Malik Willis, who may end up getting playing time if Tannehill doesn’t perform.

24. Zach Wilson, New York Jets

The Jets continue to give Wilson weapons, as they drafted both Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall. He played in 13 games and was the 30th-ranked quarterback in the league.

25. Daniel Jones, New York Giants

Proving that he is the quarterback long-term is the objective for Jones in 2022. He ranked 27th last season in 11 games played.

26-30

26. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

In his first season with the Lions, Goff ranked 24th. He has been given some new players to work with in Jameson Williams and D.J. Chark added to the roster.

27. Marcus Mariota, Atlanta Falcons

Mariota is being given the first chance to be a starting quarterback since his time in Tennessee. He offers some mobility, but will have rookie Desmond Ridder rearing to get playing time behind him.

28. Davis Mills, Houston Texans

Mills performed admirably in a tough circumstance in Houston. He ranked 30th last season in 13 games played.

29. Carson Wentz, Washington Commanders 

In 2021, Wentz ranked 14th. That was when he was set up in a very good situation in Indianapolis. He won’t be able to lean on the running game as much in Washington.

30. Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers drafted Pickett in the first round, but he still needs to beat out Mitch Trubisky for the starting job.

31-35

31. Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns

Watson may still be suspended after sitting out all of 2021. Even if he isn’t, he will have to knock some rust off. He’ll have Amari Cooper and some unproven wide receivers to work with, but David Njoku and Kareem Hunt can help pick up the slack.

32. Drew Lock, Seattle Seahawks

After not addressing the quarterback position in the draft, Lock might be the starter in Seattle. He’ll have good receivers to work with, but hasn’t proven to be a good starting quarterback in the league yet.

33. Mitch Trubisky, Pittsburgh Steelers

Trubisky was able to show some decent tape in the preseason last year with the Bills. Now, he may have a shot to start for the Steelers.

34. Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers

Garoppolo’s value could go up if he is traded, but for now, Lance is projected to start.

35. Malik Willis, Tennessee Titans

If the Titans decide to make a change at quarterback this season, Willis has tremendous physical tools that could really change up the offense for the team.
