The 2020 NFL Draft is over, giving us a clearer picture of rosters for the 2020 season. With that fantasy football rankings can be released. Here are the 2020 fantasy football kicker rankings. (Note: These are best used for standard-scoring leagues and will be updated until the season starts)
1-5
1. Harrison Butker, Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs have a high-powered offense and Butker benefitted by ranking as the first-ranked fantasy kicker last season. It doesn’t seem like that is going to change in 2020.
2. Justin Tucker, Baltimore Ravens
Tucker ranked third last year and was hurt by the fact that the Ravens were so aggressive, albeit successful on fourth down conversions. He is still one of the best kickers in NFL history and will be ready when he is called upon.
3. Wil Lutz, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans always has a good offense when Drew Brees is under center. It should be even better this season with the additions of Adam Trautman and Emmanuel Sanders. Lutz ranked second last year and should be a top-five kicker once again, especially since he plays eight of his games at home in the dome.
4. Matt Gay, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Gay ranked fourth last season and the offense should be even better this season. Tom Brady is in town and so is Rob Gronkowski. The Bucs will score more points, which will help Gay have another top-five season.
5. Greg Zuerlein, Dallas Cowboys
Greg “the leg” Zuerlein has signed with the Cowboys, who ranked in the top five in rushing and passing last year. Zuerlein has had back issues in the past, but if he’s healthy he can be a top-tier kicker.
6-10
6. Zane Gonzalez, Arizona Cardinals
It seems the Browns made a mistake when they cut Gonzalez, as he ranked fifth among kickers for the Cardinals last year. He likely won’t disappear this year, as Kyler Murray develops and DeAndre Hopkins helps the team move the ball.
7. Robbie Gould, San Francisco 49ers
Gould faced injuries last year, but still ranked right outside the top five in average fantasy points per game for a kicker. He should be able to make his way back into the top 10.
8. Matt Prater, Detroit Lions
Prater ranked seventh as a kicker last year and if Matthew Stafford is healthy, he could even do better than that ranking. Having eight games at home in a dome will help him be a top 10 kicker again.
9. Michael Badgley, Los Angeles Chargers
He only played in nine games last year and ranked 31st among kickers in fantasy. If Badgley is healthy for the full season, he will need to knock down a lot of field goals for Tyrod Taylor or Justin Herbert.
10. Jake Elliot, Philadelphia Eagles
While he ranked 20th in fantasy scoring last year, the Eagles and Elliot should improve in 2020. They faced injuries and now have added to their offensive weapons, so Elliot should restore to his form before a down 2019.
11-15
11. Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers
Crosby ranked 18th last season, but was just a few points away from ranking 13th in fantasy scoring. He will be reliable and the Packers will need to air it out more in 2020.
12. Dan Bailey, Minnesota Vikings
Bailey ranked eighth in fantasy scoring last year, even though the Vikings focused more on running the ball and controlling the clock. The indoor stadium in Minnesota helps, so Bailey can be relied upon most weeks.
13. Ka’imi Fairbairn, Houston Texans
The Texans may take a hit on offense without DeAndre Hopkins, but Fairbairn will still be reliable after finishing 19th last season. Houston may have to settle for more field goals, which will drive his value up.
14. Brandon McManus, Denver Broncos
Playing in the thin air of Denver has helped McManus, as he ranked ninth last season. If Drew Lock plays well, he should be able to have another solid year for the Broncos.
15. Chris Boswell, Pittsburgh Steelers
After a down year in 2019, Boswell could have a resurgence in 2020. With Ben Roethlisberger back, the Steelers should move the ball a lot better. Now Boswell just needs to convert.
