Breaking News
A new fighting game for Riot was confirmed live at Evolution 2019. Interviewed by Stephen “Sajam” Lyons and Steve “Tasty Steve” Scott, Tom Cannon revealed the esports behemoth’s plans to enter the fighting game community. Tom is the founder of EVO and a Riot employee. Back when Riot acquired Radiant Entertainment rumors were stirring about a potential fighting game. Riot Games is known for League of Legends and Team Fight Tactics. A Riot Games fighting game is what the FGC needs.
History
Tom founded Radiant back in 2015. A year later they hired Seth Killian, a veteran of the fighting game community. The Cannons and Killian then released Rising Thunder. The free to play fighting game had single-button commands. However simple the cooldown-based abilities made for a complex fighter. Tom and Tony Cannon, along with Seth have been working for Riot for the past few years. No better reveal could have come out and the FGC is in for a new challenger.

Now What?
This announcement is just the first of many slated for the fighting game tournament held annually in Las Vegas. Capcom had their new DLC character announcement leaked only yesterday which was a massive blow to the momentum Street Fighter V needed going into the weekend.
