On the Overwatch League Twitter today, it was announced that the OWL will be rolling out a new way for fans to pick the winners of each OWL match and earn OWL tokens to spend in-game. This new feature, called “League Picks” looks to work while in Twitch as an add-on client. According to the announcement, it is set to go live July 25, just in time for Stage 4. Here is the official announcement of the new feature.

This new feature is Blizzard’s first step towards any sort of fantasy OWL and is also the first way players can actively earn OWL tokens outside of just watching the games. This could be a big opportunity to incentivize fans to be more active during matches and drive viewership up in the process, which has struggled during Stages 2 and 3.
This new feature, coming along with the new 2-2-2 role lock, should make for a very new and exciting Stage 4. There is certainly a lot to be excited about for this weekend’s games.
