Five members of the seven-man roster return after previously playing with XL2 Academy. Liam “Mangachu” Campbell, James “Cloneman16” D’Arcangelo, and Anthony “Goliath” Pietro have all played on the team since its inception in February. Jang-hyeon “TiZi” Hwang and Seung-hyun “WooHyaL” Sung will also play on the academy team again, after joining the roster for season two of Contenders.

DPS player Andreas “Logix” Berghmans and support player Jeremy “Jer” Santacruz join XL2 Academy as new additions for the season to come. Logix joins up after spending the Overwatch League’s first season with the Florida Mayhem, where he became well-known for his Tracer play. Jer, meanwhile, most recently played on Skyfoxes, though his competitive history includes time on teams such as Immortals and Renegades.

Former XL2 Academy players Yeon-kwan “Nenne” Jeong and Yeon-oh “Fl0w3R” Hwang were both promoted to the New York Excelsior during the off-season. In addition, Adam “Adam” Eckel now serves as the academy team’s manager after announcing his retirement from competitive play. Coach Joon “Wiz” Lee Hae will lead the team, replacing Pirin “Kitta” Singapan, who left the team to pursue her army training.
