Paris Eternal lose 4-0
Map 1: Illios
Paris did not start their run on Illios in the best way. Rather than sticking to what most fans are used to, Paris started with a version of GOATs that replaced D.Va with Symmetra. It did not go well at all. Paris were swiftly rolled over by the GOATs of Atlanta not even getting a single percent losing 100-0. Then going to the next map Atlanta brought out their Torbjorn composition. A composition that Paris had a hard time dealing with due to it being very unique to Atlanta. While Paris was able to fight back a little more than the first map, they were hurt by Atlanta’s use of the enviroment on Well. Paris would get to 99% but would eventually lose the final percent to Atlanta going down 1-0 in the series.
Map 2: Hollywood
Things did not get better on Hollywood for Paris. Atlanta showed that they had magic in them with some incredible plays for their team. However, Paris could not do the same with their ultimates. Layered support ultimates and unsuccessful ultimate combos hindered Paris immensely throughout the map. Benjamin “BenBest” Dieulafait, in particular, had a very tough time during the match. He was being booped into the enemy team at every turn and was being hard targeted by those on Atlanta. It seemed like whenever he was alive he was always below 50% health. Paris wasn’t even able to capture the second point of Hollywood and were heading into the 3rd map in a huge need of a boost in their confidence.
Map 3: Temple of Anubis
Paris really began to fall apart at the seams when Anubis came around. After bringing out a Bastion Bunker composition on their first defense they were able to hold for a couple of minutes. They were then ran over by Atlanta onto the second point once their first defense broke. Atlanta finished with a massive 4:50 left in the timebank. On offense, they went back to their trusty GOATs composition. However, Atlanta was ready and waiting with a Junkrat spam bunker composition that completely blew up Paris. They were full held and their series was over as they went to Route 66.
Map 4: Route 66
This map was more of the same from the Paris Eternal. Ultimates were not gaining value and Atlanta seemed to have their way with Paris. Terence “SoOn” Tarlier again seemed to be a question mark on Zarya much like he was in the game against the Galdiators. While they finally were able to take a couple of team fights it still looked like they were always behind Atlanta in ult charge and just health in general. Paris this time at least were able to capture more than one point, managing to cap two points but capping the 3rd point to take us into overtime was a bridge too far. Paris were held at 3rd point and would fall 4-0 to Atlanta.
Conclusion
Paris finally failed a test against a team that most fans thought would be a playoff team. They weren’t able to pass this test after just barely squeaking by the Los Angeles Gladiators. A lot of issues were shown during this match, mainly SoOn’s Zarya play not being the strongest and a few ultimate economy and combo issues. Paris’ schedule does not get any easier going into the next couple of weeks and they will have to bounce back in a big way if they want to have a chance of making the stage playoffs.
