On Friday, July 27, 2018, the Inaugural Season Grand Finals for the Overwatch League begins. The two remaining contenders for the best team in the Overwatch league are the Philadelphia Fusion and London Spitfire. Both teams are the two lowest seeds in the Playoffs and were considered underdogs, rightfully so. However, both have made surprisingly good runs taking victories over teams like the New York Excelsior, Los Angeles Valiant, LA Gladiators, and Boston Uprising.
Philadelphia and London have looked great in the Postseason; the two teams couldn’t be more deserving of going to the Grand Finals. With money and bragging rights on the line, only one question remains: who will win and become the first ever Overwatch League Champion?
The first game and match set begins on Friday, July 27 at 4:00 PM PST / 7:00 PM EST. To watch the first match set, check out the official Overwatch League website, the Overwatch League Twitch page, ESPN, or Disney XD. The remainder of the series will be played on the following day, Saturday, July 28. The matches on Saturday begin 1:00 PM PST / 4:00 PM EST. As on Friday, these games will air on the official Overwatch League website, the Overwatch League Twitch Page, Disney XD and ESPN 3. Finally, the vods, match analysis, and match recap will all be available after for those who may have missed it.
Overall, this series should be one to remember. Both teams have an equally good chance to win the series, so it will be interesting to see who takes home the title. Expect to see some big plays, unique strategies, and epic Overwatch gameplay. As always for more details about the players, league, and playoffs, check out the Overwatch League’s official website.
