Abilities

While Lifeweaver’s abilities haven’t been fully showcased there have been discussions about them and the character’s intended playstyle.

According to lead hero designer Alec Dawson, Lifeweaver’s control abilities will open up many new strategies when players are “in the thick of it”. Lifeweaver will be relying heavily on his regenerative Healing Blossom.

Thorn Volley – serves as an alternate primary fire that can kick out a respectable amount of damage to ward off aggressors.

Rejuvenating Dash – provides a small burst of passive healing to keep you alive while falling back or repositioning.

Parting Gift Passive – Triggers upon death and causes him to drop a healing item that can be picked up by heroes on both teams.

Tree Of Life Ultimate – Heals allies within the parameter for as long as it remains active. Can be placed anywhere on the map to disrupt sight lines and choke points.

“I will say Lifeweaver is actually very approachable stated Dawson. “but it will take some time to master Lifeweaver.”

The Details

Shortly following a small teaser via the Overwatch Twitter page there has been a full announcement of Lifewaver making their official debut in the Overwatch 2 lineup. While no official release date on the character has been made on April 4 more information will be given on the character. Lifeweaver is described as a ranged healer with massive utility under his belt. Otherwise known as Niran Pruksamanee, the plant-based pansexual is the first Thai hero to enter the Overwatch franchise.

Like previous heroes, Lifeweaver will be available to unlock via the next Overwatch 2 battle pass.
