It is official, Mauga is finally making his way to Overwatch 2. It has been nearly four and a half years since Mauga was introduced to Overwatch fans in the comic “What You Left Behind” where he and Baptiste were working together with Talon. Now fans are going to want to know what the Overwatch 2 Mauga Abilities are. Here is a look at the new tank hero and what he can do.

The new tank hero for Overwatch 2 Mauga has some interesting abilities. They are listed below.
Ability 1- Gunny and Cha-Cha
This ability is more of an auto-attack enhancer. Mauga’s left gun can catch opponents on fire and deal extra damage to them. His right gun then can crit those enemies that are on fire. He can also fire both at the same time. The amount of ammo in each is currently unknown.
Ability 2- Overrun
This ability is similar to Reinhardt’s charge. He cannot be stopped and seemingly knocks back enemies. Then he slams the ground and slows opponents. Or at least that is what it looks like from the initial trailer.
Ability 3- Cardiac Overdrive
This ability helps up Mauga’s damage and gives him help. These buffs are also given to nearby allies.
Ultimate- Cage Fight
He traps enemies in an aoe bubble. They are attached to the area that Mauga smashes his device down. In this cage fight, he has unlimited ammo. It is unclear whether he is in there alone or if teammates can enter.
The Overwatch 2 Mauga Release Date will be with Overwatch 2 Season 8 on December 5, 2023.
That being said, it looks as though according to the leak he will be available to test out during Blizzcon. It will be interesting to see how fans react to him then being locked back up for about a month until his eventual release.
This will undoubtedly get fans excited to have him in the game during the next season. Considering it is Blizzcon it makes sense to focus on the hype that Mauga is bringing.
