Overwatch 2 Illari Abilities: What is Known So Far

Publish Date: August 8, 2023

Since the start of the year, it has been known that Overwatch 2 Seasons 4 and 6 would include a new Support hero. Season 4 saw Lifeweaver get added. Then around the start of season 5 a new trailer dropped showing off the second hero who did not have a name. That is until now. It has been confirmed that Illari will be the Overwatch 2 Season 6 Support Hero added to the game and here are her abilities.

The newest Overwatch 2 trailer shown at the Xbox Showcase was all things Giant robots, co-op events, firing ranges, story missions, and much more. It’s the end of the trailer that will have gamers talking, however. At the end of the trailer, a hero who can only be inferred to be a new support hero rises into the sky wearing a crown and a cape. While it’s still hard to make it out clearly the new hero will be brandishing a big gun or a giant sword of the sort.

The new Overwatch 2 PVE Mode will be dubbed Invasion. This new mode brings along new story missions, a new co-op mode, and as discussed a new support hero. This new update is said to be Overwatch’s biggest content drop yet.

Overwatch 2 Illari Abilities

Here is a look at the trailer for Illari and Invasion.

  • It looks as if Illari will have the ability to jump up similar to Baptiste but it looks like there is less setup to do so.
  • Along with this, she seems to be able to charge her gun and shoot sun-filled bombs from that height or possibly just in general.
  • There looks to be a cleansing ability or just something that keeps her from being crowd-controlled.
  • She has a turret that heals and it is able to be thrown onto surfaces.
  • Her attacks look similar to Sojourn’s alternate fire.

Leaked Abilities

Here is an article detailing the leaks of these abilities.

Forceful Ricochet

  • Bounce up high in the air whilst simultaneously knocking-back incoming enemies

Healing Drone

  • Deploys a healing drone

    • Priortises allies with the lowest health

Flashbang

  • Adds a glare and discord effect to nearby enemies on first contact

Ultimate

  • Activates a free flight mode which allows you to pick two locations to deploy a rapid sunbeam
  • Enemies caught in will quickly lose damage and a have a discord effect applied to them

These do not seem to be completely correct based on what was seen in the video but that is yet to be confirmed either way.

Overwatch 2 Illari

After some leaks, Illari will be the newest hero added to the game. She will be a healing support that is supposedly from Peru and inspired by the Incan people of ancient times from that area. Everything she does is related to the sun and its healing and damaging properties.

It looks as if she will be joining in the story missions as well and fits the last bit of news that the devs gave about the support heroes. She is likely younger in age and a new hero coming to the world of Overwatch 2. Illari is the second to last hero being added in 2023.
