Overwatch 2 December 19 Patch: Mauga Gets Fixed

Publish Date: December 19, 2023

Overwatch 2 has done a much better job in recent years of listening to fans and making changes at a faster pace. Some wish that they would do it even more but compared to the barren Overwatch 1 year, these changes feel pretty quick. They decided that Mauga did some quick fixes so here they are in the Overwatch 2 December 19 Patch.

Below is everything in the Overwatch 2 December 19 Patch update regarding Mauga and some other small fixes.

Mauga

  • Mauga is now available in Competitive Play for players who unlocked him.
  • Base health decreased from 350 to 250.
  • Base armor increased from 150 to 250.

Incendiary and Volatile Chainguns

  • Number of shots with the Incendiary Chaingun to ignite enemies reverted from 15 to 10.
  • Spread decreased from 1.1 to 1 when only one Chaingun is active.

Berserker

  • Overhealth conversion rate increased from 50% to 60%.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that had some heroes’ default weapon appearing locked behind competitive points.
  • Hero Mastery – Fixed a bug with replays where only the bookmarks of the first run could be selected.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from being able to thank each other.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the multi-kill voice over to fail to play.

Junkrat

Fixed a bug with Concussion Mine that allowed Junkrat to launch off of it when placed behind a wall.

New Overwatch 2 Patch Analysis

There is not too much to dive into with this one. They are attempting to make Mauga tankier while spreading out some of his damage. The armor should allow him to stand in front a bit longer but the base health decrease is a bit concerning. It will be worth watching how much you feel it when his armor goes down but hopefully, this will put Mauga in a much healthier place.
