While Call of Duty has been the main topic of discussion following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, something else has been a conversation topic. Does this mean that Overwatch 2 will be on Xbox Game Pass in the coming months?
If it was Overwatch 1 that could be a possibility, however, Overwatch 2 is already a free-to-play game. This means players can already play the title right now if desired. With that being said, Overwatch does make a brief appearance on the subscription service.
The only mention of Blizzard-related games on Game Pass at the moment is Overwatch 2, but only as a perk. Subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will get access to the Overwatch New Heroes Starter Pack beginning on August 10. This gives players access to the first six new Heroes of Overwatch 2 for free.
At this current time, there has been no confirmation on whether or not Blizzard games will be making their way to the subscription service. However, this is primarily due to the fact that Microsoft and Activision Blizzard have extended the merger agreement deadline to October 18th, 2023. We may see Blizzard games make an appearance on the service after this date.
With Call of Duty being a Blizzard title, does this mean it’s coming to Game Pass? As of today, there is no official confirmation of Call of Duty coming to Xbox Game Pass. With older Call of Duty servers being fixed, there is however speculation that players will see its arrival come around October 2023 when the merger fully goes through.
