The NYXL Twitter page announced on January 28, 2019 that a documentary entitled We are NYXL will premiere live on Youtube on January 30, 2019, at 6:00 pm EST.
The documentary follows the NYXL on their season 1 OWL journey, documenting the highs and lows of their experiences in season 1.
The team’s dominant performance landed them in first place in the overall standings. Their support player Seong-hyun “Jjonak” Bang also earned the title of T-Mobile MVP for the inaugural season for his aggressive play style and consistently strong performances in-game.
However, this dominance faultered at the end of stage 4, when the team didn’t make the playoffs despite having won both stage 2 and stage 3. The team was playing without care and did not have the same synergy they had in previous stages. Fans were shocked and confused at their comparatively poor performance.
The documentary’s release builds anticipation for season 2, their first game being on February 14th, 2019 at 8:30 pm EST. Fans hope that with season 2 comes the dominance and synergy the team had in stages 2 and 3 of the inaugural season, and that in the coming season the team will get revenge against the teams they lost bitterly against in stage 4.
